Kidstir Recipes

Kidstir includes four colorful recipe guides with step-by-step instructions, colorful photos, and tips for each recipe.

Pineapple Fried Rice

The first recipe is Pineapple Fried Rice, made with white rice, mixed veggies, bell pepper, red onion, pineapple, eggs, garlic, and ginger. My son chopped up the veggies and started the rice, which turned out great. Instructions were to turn the pineapple into bowls to hold the finished rice.

Cooking Kidstir recipes

The recipe made for a huge amount of rice, and we had plenty of leftovers.

We put the finished rice in the pineapple halves. This was a beautiful centerpiece for the table.

Mahalo Garlic Shrimp

The next recipe we made was the shrimp. We recently went to Hawaii, and my son tried shrimp for the first time. I thought he might like this dish, but he wanted a backup dinner if he didn't like this.

I carefully supervised my son cooking the shrimp to ensure he was safe. The recipe was straightforward to do, and the shrimp cooked quickly.

The finished shrimp turned out wonderful, and the seasoning added perfect flavor to the dish. My son loved the shrimp, and no backup dinner was used. My youngest has always been the pickiest eater, but he has slowly improved.

We added the shrimp to the rice bowls for a complete dish.

Kahakai Cupcakes

The third recipe was Kahakai Cupcakes. These are made with vanilla extract, vanilla extract/graham crackers, flour, and shredded coconut. We opted to leave out the coconut since no one in my family cared for coconut.

My husband and my son made the cupcakes together. This was a speedy recipe to make.

My son iced the cupcakes and made them into the pattern Kidstir suggested, an ocean with a beach. The cupcakes were so tasty!

Bonus Craft

There was a bonus craft that included making a flower lei out of cupcake liners. We didn't get a chance to make this craft yet, because I only have silicone cupcake liners. Once I find some cupcake liners, we will do this one.

Stickers

Kidstir includes stickers for the meals you have prepared.

Kitchen Tool

The featured tool this month was a frosting spatula. My son used this to ice the cupcakes, and it was easy for my son to use.

Each box comes with a Foodie Fun magazine containing information about the monthly theme and fun games.

The last item was two games in 1. One side is a matching game, and the other side of the cards is a foodie twist on Taboo.

Kidstir Hawaii Box

Final Thought: My son loved this subscription because he got to cook, and I loved the box because he was excited to try new foods! I wouldn't have selected these recipes to try if they were not sent to me. I love that Kidstir includes three great recipes for your child to cook. If you want to try Kidstir, use the coupon subscribe25 to save 25% on your 1st box.
