Wine Awesomeness - Wine Subscription Box Review

Wine Awesomeness – Wine Subscription Box Review

Wine Awesomeness is more than just a wine club.  Every month their self-professed “wine nerds”, writers, and editors join forces to comb the globe for six wines: three reds, three whites and the stories behind them.

Each delicious monthly shipment is an editorialized adventure through a theme, trend, educational concept or a part of the wine world. Whether it’s a deep dive into overlooked Eastern European wines, a selection of bottles perfect for BBQ or a month devoted to showcasing the work of women winemakers, they’ve got you covered.

The Details:

Membership Choices:
If you want the full experience, sign up for a six pack membership and taste them all! If you’re more of a red wine person, simply sign up for the red wine three pack. If you’re on the white wine side of the fence, pick the white three pack and get only whites or bubbly.

Cost:
$45/month for the 3-pack (all red, all white, or variety pack)
$75/month for the 6-pack (all wines featured in thebacklabel magazine)

What’s in the box?  In addition to your wine selection, all shipments arrive at your door with thebacklabel magazine, your humble guide to the wine journey you’re about to embark on.  It’s jam packed with custom tasting notes, educational content, recipes, playlists, pairings, behind the scenes editorial and DIY articles- everything you need to take your enjoyment and knowledge of the juice to the next level.

Shipping: Shipping is included in the prices listed above and is available only in the US/US territories.

Wine Awesomeness ships in a large blue box.

Contents:

We received the 3-pack variety, including:

2013 Rickshaw Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2014 Boatman Red Blend
2013 Pellegrini Chardonnay

2013 Rickshaw Cabernet Sauvignon: Packed with plush dark fruits, this wine exudes cool, old-skool and a sun-streaked hillside full of West Coast spice.  This is a wine you’ll devour in a minute, but won’t soon forget!  thebacklabel magazine suggests pairing with BBQ turkey sliders, and a recipe was included.

The 2014 Boatman Red Blend:  An all-purpose, all-star California blend of Malbec, Merlot, Cab Sauvignon and Petite Sirah perfect for any occasion, especially boating.  thebacklabel magazine suggests pairing with maple glazed salmon, and a recipe was included.

2013 Pellegrini Chardonnay:  The Pellegrini family has been growing their vines in the Russian River Valley (home to the finest Chardonnay grown in California) for over 50 years.  This delicious version boasts richness, creaminess, and some much needed acidity.  thebacklabel magazine suggests pairing with pan-seared sea scallops, and a recipe was included.

Final Thought:  Wine Awesomeness is a fun way to try new wines that have been hand selected by “wine nerds” – so why not give it a try?  The magazine theblacklabel is great – with some background on each wine and some tasty recipes, so you’re getting more than just bottles of wine – you’re getting an experience.  If you’d like to check out Wine Awesomeness, click the link and one free bottle in your first shipment.
