Each box comes with an information card with the materials included, materials needed and detailed instructions. As with beginning any project, you should read the entire instructions before beginning.

The July 2018 Project is Wire & Twine Craft.

Lighted Twine Orb

Lighted Twine Orb

I have seen several videos of these twine balls on YouTube, so I felt pretty confident in the craft. The kit came with twine, lights, balloons and wood glue.

Lighted Twine Orb

First, you blow up the balloon to the size you want your twine ball.

You clip sections of twine, dip them in wood glue, then wrap them around the balloon.

After you wrap the twine around the balloon, you let it dry for at least 12 hours. I added a bit of water to my glue and let it dry for 24 hours. I ended up making two and they each turned out differently.

The pink balloon lost air during the drying process, so it turned out a bit smashed.

The yellow balloon stayed inflated and the ball turned out great. I took care to separate the balloon from the ball before popping it. The little wire lights look great inside the ball. I am going to use the leftover twine to make more balls for a decorative bowl.

Air plants are so easy to take care of, just spray with water every now and again. The kit came with pliers, an air plant, wire, a picture frame and a template.

My husband worked on this craft. First, he made then wired love, then he assembled the frame.

There was hardware to add to the back of the frame, but there wasn't much room, so I just sat this on my counter. The frame turned out really nice and I think my husband did a great job.

Final Thought This was one of my favorite crafts boxes from Adults and Crafts. I have been wanting to try to make twine balls, so I was happy to see the craft in the box. You can use the code CRAFTYMOM to receive free shipping on your subscription.
