First Look

BasilBox April 2018

The information card lets you know everything in the box.

EarthAlive Soil Activator

EarthAlive Soil Activator This activator is made with soil microorganisms and a proprietary synergistic active. This activator works to grow bigger plants and add healthy bacteria to the soil. Each package contains enough material for 1.4 cubic feet of soil. To apply, mix one package with two gallons of water.

Butterfly Seed Bombs

Butterfly Seed Bombs $8.95 Beneficial Bug Garden handmade these five seed bombs. Each one is made with indian blanket, daisy, and zinnia flower seeds. These grow best in zones 2-8 and in an average-wet soil. This will work for my area. If you don't know your zone, check it out at this link.

Belham Herbals Cucumber & Kale

BelhamHerbals Cucumber & Kale $6.95 This soal smells like a fresh salad with a hint of sweetness. This has scent notes of kale, cucumber, fennel, and violet. This is free from detergents, sulfates, parabens. phthalates, and cruelty-free. This soap has a pleasant scent that works for anyone.

Mlgardener Seeds

Mlgardener Seeds Each box comes with new packets of seeds.

I received the following seeds:

  • Mammoth Basil
  • Tommy Toe Tomato
  • Oregon Giant Snow Pea
  • Strawberry Spinach
  • Mexican Sour Gherkin Cucamelon

The Mexican Sour Gherkin Cucamelons was something new for me. I looked them up and they are little cucumbers, shaped like watermelons. They have a cucumber flavor with a hint of lemon.

Glass Spray Bottle

Glass Spray Bottle You can use this bottle for the air plant BasilBox sent a few boxes ago, or to mist seeds and seedlings. In my house, it may end up being used in a water gun fight.

Bonus Pot & Dirt Disc

Bonus Pot & Soil Disc There was a little bonus product this month, a plastic pot and soil disc. You just add water to the dirt to get it to expand. You can use this to get some of your seeds started.
