First Look

BasilBox February 2018 Gardening Subscription Box Review

Inside the envelope was an information card, a contact card for the subscription and a fact card about the eco-friendly packing materials.

Wildflower Seed Bombs

Wildflower Seed Bombs Each of these hearts is filled with over 50 annual and perennial wildflowers. You just need to soak these in water, then plant under 1cm of loose soil. All the seeds are also non-gmo.

Air Plant & Holder

Air Plant & Holder I don't have a green thumb, but I can keep air plants alive. The box contained a concrete pot, marble filler and an air plant.  Air plants are very easy to care for.  You just needs to soak the plant in water for 15-30 mins once a week.

Air Plant & Holder

There were directions printed on the bag, though like I said, air plants are hard to kill.

You don't need to cover the plant with any filler, just place the plant on top of the rocks.

Apple Tree Plant Marker/Stakes

Apple Tree Plant Marker/Stakes This is a set of 5 stakes, a white marker, along with a pack of sunflower mixture. I love that all the items fit inside a little tin.

Apple Tree Plant Marker/Stakes

Each of the markers has a space to write on. The stakes are made of Winesap apple trees from cooler climates of California. You can keep these year after year and are able to reuse them for different plants. The seeds included are a mix of yellow-orange-burgundy sunflowers. There was an also a twig of lavender in the tin.

Mlgardener Seeds

Mlgardener Seeds There were five packet of seeds included in the box, plus an additional one in the welcome envelope. All the seeds are non-gmo and include: Chioggia Beets, Magenta Sunset Swiss Chard, Hyssop, Lady Slipper Radish, Purple Plum Radish, and Johnny Jump Up Viola. Four of the plans can be grown and uses for food!

Mrs Meyers Clean Day Daily Bar Soap

Mrs Meyers Clean Day Daily Bar Soap Mrs Meyers is a great cleaning company, so I was happy to get this bar of soap. This is made with 100% pure vegetable oil, olive oil and essential oils.  This is made with 98% naturally derived ingredients. This is in the scent basil, which has a great clean scent.

VermisTerra Organic Soil Amendment

VermisTerra Organic Soil Amendment This is a package of earthworm castings and casting tea, which adds nutrients to the soil to help plants grow more vigorous and sturdy to diseases.

Final Thought: I really enjoyed this box! I am a novice when it comes to plants and I could use everything in this box. I love the plant stakes and the seeds. I am going to try to make a little garden with my kids.  The air plant is already in my kitchen. If you want to subscribe, use the coupon SBM10 to save 10% on my first box.
