First Look

First Look. To cut down on paper waste, Hippie Hobby has all their instructions online.

The Hippie Hobby Box

The Hippie Hobby box packs everything with strips of newsprint.

Sunburst Mirror

This month's craft is “Sunburst Mirror”. The box comes with three mirrors, a strand of beads, tacky glue, and wire.

The first step was to trace each mirror and cut circles out that are slightly smaller than each mirror.

Next, using the tacky glue, you glue the strand of beads around each mirror.

The wire had to be cut into 16, 6.5″ pieces; 18, 8.5″ pieces; and 22, 10.5″pieces.

Once I started the project, I didn't take photos. I glued the wire loops on the back of each mirror, then glued on the back. Cutting and bending the wire loops took the longest amount of time.  Once everything was glued together, I placed heavy objects on each piece and left them there for two days.

This is another look at the finished piece.

The back had two holes in the cardboard and you had add your own ribbon or twine. I would've used the wire to make a loop, but I didn't want to cut another piece.
