Inheritance: How Our Genes Change Our Lives--and Our Lives Change Our Genes

Inheritance: How Our Genes Change Our Lives–and Our Lives Change Our Genes by Sharon Moalem MD PhD $4.98 Amazon ($28.00 MSRP) This book is about how our genes detemermine how our health is affected. This book talks about how pain killers are like morphine to some people and how fructose can kill you.

SummaryConventional wisdom dictates that our genetic destiny is fixed at conception. But Dr. Moalem's groundbreaking book shows us that the human genome is far more fluid and fascinating than your ninth grade biology teacher ever imagined. By bringing us to the bedside of his unique and complex patients, he masterfully demonstrates what rare genetic conditions can teach us all about our own health and well-being.

Wake Up Happy By Michael Strahan

Wake Up Happy By Michael Strahan $8.80 ($16.00 MSRP) Michael is the new co-host of Live with Kelly and Michael and former football player. This book is about how to use mental toughness and hard work to get what you want. I have seen his morning show a few times and I am interested to see what he says.

SummaryPulling from his own life experiences, Michael Strahan details the mix of mental discipline, positive thinking, and sense of play that lead him to a Super Bowl XLII victory as a member of the New York Giants, and later to star alongside Kelly Ripa in the hit daytime talk show Live! with Kelly and Michael. Each of these “Strahan Rules” will guide you step-by-step through developing a work ethic and mental durability that will prime you to achieve your goals and transform your life.

Delivered with his signature wit and wisdom, Strahan’s Rules combine a range of advice, from values he picked up from his father who served in the military to professors who teach on the science of happiness and include: -Rule #5: Too many of us count ourselves out before we even give ourselves a chance…Do the work. Be excellent. You’ll find your place.
-Rule #11: You can’t change other people, but you can change how you are around them, and sometimes, a lot of times, that’s more than enough.-Rule #12: Listen to other people, but don’t take their opinions for fact. Have your own experiences. Draw your own conclusions.

  1. Chris Poclitar, September 14, 2017:

I received one of these as well, the value seems low because the book prices are private sellers, you can’t order these books in bulk at that price, regardless good review, just wish more thought and time went into them.

  2. Subscription Box Mom, September 14, 2017:

I listed both the Amazon price and the MSRP so the full value could be shown. Most subscribers that I have talked to want to know how much they could purchase the products for, if they didn’t have the subscription. Thanks for your feedback.
