There was also a little brochure about string art.

The Supplies

wood planks

There were three planks of wood with two wooden paint sticks.

pattern

There was a two-sided pattern, which you can use for your project.

Hippie Hobby Accessories

This project contained nails, floss, coffee (stain) and sandpaper.

This is a look at everything in the box.  I like that all the supplies were included for the kit.

The Project

Paint the Wood

The first step was to sand the wood, then make the stain (just mix the coffee with water) and paint the wood.

Stain Drying

You have to wait for the stain to dry on the wood.

Hippie Hobby Design

Once the wood is dry, you nail the boards together, then pick the pattern for your design.  Once your design is selected, you can nail the design to the wood.

Hippie Hobby

Once all the nails are in, you just pull off the print.

Hippie Hobby

The basic plan for the project is to weave the thread from nail to nail until there is a thick pattern.

Final Thought: This was a very involved craft, which made it more fun.  I love how this piece turned out.  I am going to do a marriage theme and put pictures of my husband and I on either side.  If you want to subscribe, you can save $7.00 on your 1st box, just use this link with the coupon BOXMOM7.
