First Look

First Look.   The theme for January is “Love”.

GlobeIn

GlobeIn includes a detailed guide about all the products in the box.

GlobeIn Greeting Card

GlobeIn Greeting Card $3.00 There was a card about love with a quote from Dr, Martin Luther King Jr. “Love is the most durable power in the world”.  The card is black on the inside, so you can send it to whoever you wish.

Soapstone Dish

Soapstone Dish, Kenya $10.00 This stone dish is hand-carved in Kenya by the Shona people.  Traditionally, this craft is done by men, but Rose is breaking the mold.  Her husband is paralyzed, so she is the breadwinner of the family.  After working for the organization for awhile, she has healthcare, a nice salary and great hours.

Soapstone Word Heart, Kenya $3.50 This soapstone heart is also made by the Shona people.  It's much heavier than what I expected, and has a hand-carved word on the side.  My oldest son loves rocks, stones and crystals, so he really liked this.

Organic Dark Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt

Organic Dark Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt, Dominican Republic $4.00 The cocao beans in this bar were grown by Ana Rodriguez, a member of CONACADO.  CONACADO is a co-op that helps farmers sell their products directly.  This dark chocolate bar is mixed with sea salt and caramel.  This had a crunchy salty taste, mixed with the sweetness of caramel and bitterness of the chocolate, so good.

Hand Blown Wine Glasses (Set of Two)

Hand Blown Wine Glasses (Set of Two), Mexico $30.00 Subscribers received two glasses in their box (more on that in a minute).  The glasses are made in Jalisco.  The glasses are made by Cristaluc, a glass blower. The glass is pretty heavy and just so beautiful.  Both of my glasses were broken in my box, so I was sent two more.  They were packaged very well. but one of them was broken.

Shibori Napkins (Set of Two)

Shibori Napkins (Set of Two), India $12.00 These cloth napkins were made by Shibori, which is the folding and tie dying fabric. These napkins are super soft and I like that the patterns are different.

Palm Leaf Heart Bowl

Palm Leaf Heart Bowl, Mexico $6.00 This basket was handwoven in Oaxaca.  This is a different look than past baskets and the little hearts make it perfect for Valentines Day.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $68.50.  This really was a great box, I just wish both glasses would've made it through the mail in one piece.  I will use everything in the box and I think the value is great. Purchase a 3 month subscription, and get this beautiful Red Heart Soapstone Dish Free! Just use the code LOVEIS.  This is good till 2/1, or until supplies last. OR You can save $10.00 on your first box of a three-month subscription, just use  coupon the on WELCOME.
