Try the World Pantry October 2016 Review

Try the World Pantry October 2016 Review

Try the World has a new subscription Pantry!  Pantry is $29.95/month and is personalized food box to your preferences.  Each box contains five food products from around the world, selected to fit your profile.

How does it work?

try

To begin, select the type of subscription you want.  Surprise Me boxes are filled with food products selected by Try the World.  You don't fill out a profile for surprise boxes.  The profile boxes let you rate types of snacks, so you will get a customized box.

As you go through the snacks, you use Try the World's rating system star each item.  I was able to complete a profile for this review.

Information Card

Information Card: The information card had pictures and a list of everything in the box. I was impressed that there was an information card, since the box is customized for each person.

Dari Moroccan Couscous

Dari Moroccan Couscous (Morocco) Dari is one of the top produces of couscous.  This is a great food to use in stews, soups, and various meats. I am going to use this for my chili.  This is a huge box, which will last awhile.

Pastificio dei Campi Spaghetti (Italy) This pasta is made with bronze plates and lower drying temperatures.  This pasta will have a nutty/chewier texture, compared with other pastas.  We always like trying new pasta dishes, so this should go great with some homemade sauce.

Liss Ellas Special Hot & Sweet Mustard

Liss Ellas Special Hot & Sweet Mustard  (Sweden) This mustard won the gold metal (along with 17 others) at The World Wide Mustard Competition. Liss Ellas is one of the few companies in Sweden that make their own mustard in Sweden.  This is a sweet and hot mustard, made with mustard, sugar, water, honey, vinegar, salt and spices.

House Foods Medium-Hot Vermont Curry

House Foods Medium-Hot Vermont Curry  (Japan) Curry is a very popular dish in Japan, though curry originally comes from India.  This curry is medium/hot and made with apple and honey.  There is a recipe on the side to mix this with meat and veggies.

Merico Maria Rosa di Consiglia Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Merico Maria Rosa di Consiglia Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Italy) This olive oil is made from rare Cellina di Nardo olices, that are grown and pressed hours after harvest. The taste is described as grassy and fruity.  I am always running out of olive oil, so I really was glad to get more.

Final Thought: I really enjoyed my first Pantry box.  The couscous, spaghetti and olive oil were my favorite items in the box.  I look forward to cooking the everything in the box.  I like that you can get food items that fit your needs.  If you want to try Pantry, you can use this link with the code EARLYADOPTER to save $10.00 on your 1st box.
