Blue Apron October 21st meal selection review.

Hi all!  It’s Kristi doing another guest review, and this time I’m doing another meal subscription box review.  I love to cook, and I've been impressed with the last two Blue Apron boxes I have tried.  I'm super excited to try some more fancy recipes this week!

Blue Apron is a meal subscription box that sends you delicious recipes and all the ingredients you need to make the dishes.  There are two plans, a two-person plan and a family plan.  The two-person plan is $59.94/box or 9.99 per serving.  The two-person box includes two plates of three different meals (six services).  The family box is $69.92/box for two four-person meals, (eight services) or $8.74/serving.

When you sign up, you check all the kinds of food you like.   Each week, you will be sent meals based on your preferences.  Shipping is free and you can skip any week or cancel any time.

First look at all the yummy fresh stuff!

The meat!  I did receive an email notification that they were sending 18 ounces of meat instead of ten.  The recipe worked best with ten ounces, so I have eight ounces left over for something else!

As a reminder, the recipe card is two-sided with ingredients on one side, instructions on the other!

First up was Spiced Pork Burgers.

Everything laid out, ready to go!

The finished product!  These were super easy to make, and the salad made a TON, so there was a lot of that leftover.  I LOVED the dressing for the burger…it had whole grain mustard and sliced beets.  I would for sure make the sandwiches again.  My mom ate with me this week since the hubby was out of town, and she raved about these!

Next up, Caramelized Onion & Kale Quiche.  ***disclaimer***  This one was missing the onion and one of my eggs was broken when I opened the cardboard.  Blue Apron was emailed and I received a very quick reply from the ingredient concerns and was given a credit for the mistakes.  It was a VERY quick response. Check out their guarantee here.

All done!  As you can see, this one had a lot of the salad mixture left for another time too.  These were good.  I probably needed to salt and pepper more, but I tend to be light on it and add it later.  My mom liked these too!

Last, but not least, my FAVORITE BLUE APRON MEAL YET!  Pan Seared Chicken.

Fresh, fall ingredients!

To show how I prep to use less dishes 🙂  It works for me, but might not for everyone.

The finished product.  This is by far my favorite meal yet.  I kept the recipe card because I WILL make it again.  I can't say enough how good it was.  The squash, potato, and apples baked to put under the chicken were out of this world!  The ingredients aren't too strange or expensive to make it cost ineffective to make again.  Score!

Final Thought:  I really liked all the recipes.  I also love that the recipes have a fall theme!  Once again, it is nice that everything is prepackaged with the right amounts and have detailed instructions.  I felt like I was making gourmet meals!  One more tip-ALWAYS HAVE OLIVE OIL!  Most all recipes call for some olive oil, and that's the only thing not included.  The only downside is my kids won’t eat it/we’d have to up to a four person box if they would.  If you have a busy schedule and love to cook, this would be a great option to try!  After you are a subscriber you can skip a week any time.  Use this link to get 3 Free Meals with your subscription.
