GlobeIn August 2016 Benefit Basket Review

GlobeIn August 2016 Benefit Basket Review

The GlobeIn Benefit Basket is an artisan subscription box and a great box for people who love the regular GlobeIn box, but want a bit less.  The Benefit Basket contains one crafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan, all in a colorful, handwoven basket from their weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico.  You will also get story of the artisan, their community, and how you are making an impact on their lives.  The Benefit Basket is $19.95/month or $56.95 for 3 months, but you can get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT.

GlobeIn Benefit Basket Box

GlobeIn made the switch to fancier boxes a few months ago, and I love the new look.

Information Guide

The information guide lets you know all about the items in the box, and who made them.

Tribe Alive Sack

The wishbone necklace came in this little Tribe Alive sack.

Wishbone Pendant Necklace by Tribe Alive, Honduras

Wishbone Pendant Necklace by Tribe Alive, Honduras $32.00 I have a love of wishbone jewelry, that dates back to Thanksgivings with my grandmother. Every year, we always broke the wishbone together.  This is a more artistic take on the traditional wishbone charm we typically see.  I really love the look.

This is a closer look at the wishbone.

The artisan for this necklace is Denia, an artisan from Tribe Alive. Denia had a heart condition that wasn't being treated in Honduras.  Thanks to the kindness of two missionaries (Alan and Julie), she was able to get treatment in the states and spend 6 months of recovery with the missionaries.  Once in recovery, Denia learned jewelry making from Julie, an artist.  Once she went back to Honduras, she became a full-time artisan with Mi Esperanza.

GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket (Oaxaca, Mexico) $12.00 These woven baskets are in every Benefit Basket and regular GlobeIn Box.  I really love these baskets and use them all over the house.  I do wish instead of a basket, there was woven jewelry box for the necklace.  The necklace was a bit tangled when I pulled it out of the pouch, so I think a little box would've keep it a bit more neat.

Final Thought: This box was very lovely and the wishbone necklace was fantastic.  As mentioned above, any jewelry item with a wishbone on it will be a win with me.  The necklace is a beautiful and made this a fantastic box.  If you want to subscribe, you can get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT.  You will  pay under $17.00/box.
