The Austin BatBox July 2016 Review

The Austin BatBox July 2016 Review

Austin BatBox is a subscription box that sends artisan and indie products from Austin, Tx in their monthly boxes.  Their name is derived from the large colony of bats that live in Austin,  I have a good friend that lives in Austin under the Congress Ave Bridge.  I have been able to see the bats at night, and it is something to see.  There are so many bats, they even show up on radar!  Austin BatBox is $29.99 a month and you do have to pay shipping.

The Details:

Cost: $29,99/month, $86.99/3 months, $167.99/6 months

What's in the box? When you sign up for The Austin BatBox, you will receive 4-5 hand selected items from Austin, Texas every month!

When am I billed?  Every 30 days

Everything came in a white box with a batbox sticker on the front.

Austin-American Summer

First Look.  The theme for this month is “Austin-American Summer”.  There was also a little card with the name of the person who packed the box.

information card

This month celebrates 2 years of the Austin BatBox.  The information card has a list of everything in the box

Zen Soap: Handcrafted Soap & Natural Wood Soap Dish

Zen Soap: Handcrafted Soap & Natural Wood Soap Dish $16.00 This soap is made with koconut oil and natural clay.  You can really smell the lemongrass in this soap.  The soap dish is made of natural, untreated wood.  This is a nice gender neutral scent, so my whole family can use it.

Lavande Farm: Lavender Mosquito Spray

Lavande Farm: Lavender Mosquito Spray $5.00 Mosquitos are horrible where I live, but I hate the smell of traditional bug sprays.  This mosquito spray has a great lavender scent that I enjoy smelling.Stubbs Bar-B-Q: Spice Rub in Pork and Steak

Stubbs Bar-B-Q: Spice Rub in Pork and Steak $3.19 each.  The pork rub is made with spices, lime juice and chile peppers.  I love a good spice with my meat, so I look forward to trying this.  The steak spice looks just as good.  It's made with sea salt, garlic and ancho chile.  I normally just salt and pepper my steak, but I need to try this seasoning.

Artist of the Month: Brenda Armistead Ceramic Texan Bat Season Kitchen Art

Artist of the Month: Brenda Armistead Ceramic Texan Bat Season Kitchen Art $6.00 This is a magnet made of porcelain and finished with 5 glazes.  The little bat, is a nod to Austin.  Since my best friend lives in Texas, I think I might send this to her.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $33.38, which is more than the cost of the box.  Since I have friends in Austin, I always enjoy receiving this box.  The spices will come in handy, as well as the soap.  I thought this was a really nice box this month.  If you want to try Austin BatBox, you can check them out here and use the coupon BOXMOM15 to save 15% on your subscription.
