The Austin BatBox June 2016 Review

The Austin BatBox June 2016 Review

Austin BatBox is a subscription box that sends artisan and indie products from Austin, Tx in their monthly boxes.  Their name is derived from the large colony of bats that live in Austin,  I have a good friend that lives in Austin under the Congress Ave Bridge.  I have been able to see the bats at night, and it is something to see.  There are so many bats, they even show up on radar!  Austin BatBox is $29.99 a month and you do have to pay shipping.

The Details:

Cost: $29,99/month, $86.99/3 months, $167.99/6 months

What's in the box? When you sign up for The Austin BatBox, you will receive 4-5 hand selected items from Austin, Texas every month!

When am I billed?  Every 30 days

The Austin BatBox

The Austin BatBox ships in a white box with their logo sticker on the side of the box.

First Look

First Look.  The theme for June is “The Weird Box”.

Information Box

There was a little card letting me know who put together the box and an information card with a list of everything in the box.

Dino Hunt Dice $9.95  In this game, you are trying to catch as many dinosaurs as possible.  If you roll a dinosaur, you caught one.  Leafs mean the dino is hiding and you can roll again.  If you roll a foot print, your turn passes to the next person.  My kids like dinos, so I think this will be a fun game to play as a family.

Artist of the Month: Jennifer Cunningham - Whatever "Weirdo" Clip

Artist of the Month: Jennifer Cunningham – Whatever “Weirdo” Clip $12.00 est This clip was made for Austin BatBox.  This was handmade and is a very fun little pin.  I like that it fits nicely with the theme of the box.

Rythm Superfood: "Kool Ranch" Kale Chips

Rythm Superfood: “Kool Ranch” Kale Chips $4.64 I won't eat raw kale, but kale chips are healthy and tasty. These have a cool ranch flavor which is really good.  These are also organic, gluten-free and non-gmo.

Wick Habit Candle in “Beach Trip” $12.00 This candle has a fresh clean smell, a bit like clean cotton, but a bit floral too.  I love the smell and so does my husband.  This was made with soy wax and the tins are reusable once the candle is burned.

073

Outhouse Designs: “Keep Austin Weird” Shot Glass, Bumper Sticker & Magnet  $7.48 This is a collection of items promoting the “Keep Austin Weird” slogan.  I am familiar with the slogan from my visits to see my friend in Austin.  I have a shot glass collection, so I will keep the glass for sure.  I am going to visit my friend soon and I think she will really like the magnet.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $46.07.  The clip was the only item I didn't have an exact amount for, but I think $12.00 is on the low-end of the actual value.  I always enjoy reviewing this subscription, because I like sharing my items with my friend in Austin.  If you like exploring new places through subscription box.  If you want to try Austin BatBox, you can check them out here and use the coupon BOXMOM15 to save 15% on your subscription.
