The Story Box

Everything shipped in a brown box.  The books were wrapped in green tissue paper.  One thing to note, all books were priced in British Pounds, so I converted them to USD.

For And the Cars Go.... Tip Card

Each book comes with a tip card that breaks down suggested activities for babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and early elementary.  The card explains who The Story Box likes the book, suggested language concepts for different aged children and example activities.

For And the Cars Go…. pre-schoolers are encouraged to compare and contrast each vehicle. You child can then take turns being different drivers: upset driver, happy driver etc.

And the Cars Go.. by William Bee

And the Cars Go.. by William Bee $17.34 This book is about a traffic jam and how each driver handles the situation differently.  What was really interesting about this book. is it is a children's book from the UK, so there are words like, buggy, holiday, motorbike, duke and duchess.  It was fun reading a book for English children.

For Chu's Day, this book has repetitive elements, which makes it easy for kids to retell. The illustrations give many details for children to discuss.  Early Elementary children are encouraged to explore cause and effect in Chu's Day.

Chu's Day by Neil Gaiman

Chu's Day by Neil Gaiman $16.00 This is another book based out of the UK. This book is about a little panda name Chu.  He has a big sneeze and when he sneezes, bad things happen.  The story goes through various places that Chu goes, without sneezing, until it happens.

This is a cute book and it really kept my children's attention.  They couldn't wait to turn the page and see if Chu was going to sneeze.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $33.34.  This box had a great value and I loved that the books were children's books from the UK.  Both books were really engaging for my children.  The tip card was also nice, because it game fun activities to do with each of my children, based on the book.  You can try The Story Box and use the code FIRSTORDERFIVE to save $5.00 on your box.
