First Look

003

Keeping with the eco-friendly theme, I like that the filler was shredded paper.

005

I couldn't wait to get crafting, because there was a glue gun included.

Upcycled Whine Cork Heart

This month's project was “Upcycled Whine Cork Heart”.

011

There were step by step instructions on how to complete the project, along with photos.

008

There was a heart template to help make the cork heart.

006

The was a glue gun and three glue sticks included with the box.  I don't recall ever getting a glue gun in a subscription box, so this was a nice surprise.

021

I did run into a problem.  There were only 17 corks included in my box, when 21-22 were needed.  My template ended up being too big for my corks.  It ended up not being a major deal, I just made the heart smaller.

050

This is the finished heart.  The directions did call for using the burlap to wrap around the heart, but I am going to use ribbon.  I do wish there were paint or embellishments included, because the heart looks a bit plain.  Given I have a scrapbooking room, I have plenty of bling to add to this heart.

Bonus Project: Lip Scrub

Bonus Project: Lip Scrub: There was a bonus craft, a lip scrub.  The Hippie Hobby included sugar, sticker and a case.  The only thing needed was oil, I chose olive.

052

The finished lip scrub is natural and quite effective!  This was a nice scrub and you only need a little to do the trick.

Final Thought: I love the idea behind this box,  I wished I had received the correct amount of corks and some added bling would have been great.  I did really enjoy getting a glue gun in the box.  The finished heart turned out nice and it's currently decorating the center of my table.  If you want to try this subscription, use the coupon 5OFF2015 to get $5.00 off your 1st box.

You totally missed an opportunity there – open a few bottles of wine because you ‘need’ more corks!

Haha! Yes! Unfortunately, I am weird and hate wine. It’s that wang taste I can’t tolerate. My husband likes wine but we didn’t have enough bottles.
