GlobeIn has also has a Benefit Basket.   The Benefit Basket contains one crafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan, all in a colorful, handwoven basket from their weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico.  You will also get story of the artisan, their community, and how you are making an impact on their lives.  The Benefit Basket is $19.95/month or $56.95 for 3 months, but you can get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT

GlobeIn Box

GlobeIn came in a much larger box this month.

The quote this month was “Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen”.

First Look

The information booklet was placed on top of the tissue paper.

027

There is always a nice little booklet in the box that has information about all the products.
Matr Boomie Block Print Trivet (India)

Matr Boomie Block Print Trivet (India) $7.20 This trivet uses block printing, which involves stamping the pattern with a hand carved wooden block. Due to the lack of electricity in many communities, Matr partners with an organization to develop solar power, education and health care initiatives.  This trivet is really thick and plush, so your pot won't burn your table.

Olive Wood Spatula (Tunisia)  $10.00 This spatula is hand crafted by Mouna Maamouri, then dunked in a combination of mineral oil, paraffin wax, and beeswax.  The solution is a special formulation from La Souk.

Olive Wood Spreader (Tunsia)  $7.00 This smaller tool is made the same way as the spatula and is perfect for spreading peanut butter, jelly, butter, or the item included in this box.

Argan Almond Butter

Argan Almond Butter (Morocco) $8.00 This was made by Arganams, and woman's cooperative in Amskroude.  While the old member Fatima is illiterate and innumerate, but he is an expert at the 20 hour process to make this almond butter.  It's recommended to put this on toast, then top with fruit.

022

Handwoven Basket from Dona Selerina Garcia (Mexico) $12.00 I love getting these baskets every month.  The lid makes this a perfect storage container for toys.  I use these for all my boys' playsets, you know the ones with like 15 pieces that have to stay together.

018

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $44.20.  This was a nice box to help you get going in the morning.  I really don't cook much in the morning, so I will probably use the tools for dinner.  They are super sturdy and very well made.  I actually needed a new trivet, so I love that I got one in the box.  You can save 25% on your first box of a three-month subscription, just use the coupon SUBMOM.
