Sprouting Threads December 2015 Review

Sprouting Threads December 2015 Review

Sprouting Threads is a clothing subscription service for children.  The cost of the box, depends on what you keep.  You will pay a $20.00 styling fee to sign up, then that amount comes off your total, as long as you buy two pieces.  You fill out a profile about your child's size, likes and dislikes.  You are able to rate several different outfits, so Sprouting Threads can best match you with stylish pieces.  You also decide how many outfits you are sent at one time.  You can choose between 2 and 5 outfits at a time and you will decide if they are all new or 1/2 reThreaded (used).  You also choose if you want to receive a box monthly or seasonal.

ReTreaded Clothing is second-hand clothing that has been inspected, cleaned and approved to be sent out.  When you child is done with their clothing, you can send it in to Sprouting Threads and get credit to use on your next box.  Sprouting Threads only carries boutique brands like: crewcuts, tea collection, mini boden, charlie rocket and more.

Once you get your box, you decide what to keep, then send back the pieces you don't want in the prepaid envelope.  You have 5 days to send back the pieces you don't want.

The Details:

Cost: $20.00 styling fee plus the cost of clothing.  The $20/shipment styling fee is credited toward your order if you keep just two or more new pieces.

Coupon: Use this link with the coupon CYBER40 to get 40% off your 1st box.  This means you save 40% off the cost of what you keep from your box!

What's in the box?  Based on your selections, you will receive a box full of stylish boutique clothing for your child.  Buy the pieces you like and send back what you don't

ReThread:  You can get previously worn items at a lower cost, if you select that option for your box.  Even better, you can send back the clothes you buy for credit, once your child outgrows them (providing they are in the right condition).

I was waived the $20.00 styling fee and was sent a box to review.  I selected the 2 outfit option all new items.  This is for a 6 year old boy.

Kitestrings Bulldog Tee $34.00 This is thick and soft long sleeve tee with a cool bulldog riding a skateboard.

Tea Collection Twill Moto Pants

Tea Collection Twill Moto Pants $45.00 Buying pants for my son can be hard.  He is tall but super skinny, so we must have adjustable pants.  These are nice thick pants with reinforced knees.  I love the neutral color, so these can be incorporated into several outfits.

Outfit #1  L is going through a growth spurt, so I was glad there was a little room to grow in this outfit.

Gil & Jas Textured Cartigan

Gil & Jas Textured Cartigan $70.00  This was my favorite piece in the box.  This is a well made cardigan and the colors will let it work with many different shirts.  The price isn't cheap but we usually invest in a couple really nice pieces each season.  Since L has a little brother, we often buy nicer quality items, so they can be handed down to T and still look nice.

Jack Thomas Button Down Shirt

Jack Thomas Button Down Shirt $29.00 L wasn't too sure about this shirt when he put it on, but after getting the whole outfit on, he liked it.  I love the red and white together and this is another well made shirt.

Tooby Jeans

Tooby Jeans $52.00  I love the stone wash on the front of these jeans.  These are adjustable, and they fit my son's long legs.

This is outfit #2 and this is really nice.  I really love it and it's not something I would have found shopping on my own.

Final Thought:  I loved the concept of this box and the outfits I received.  We tend to buy name brand clothing items and most of the time I get great deals, so I can splurge on nicer pieces.  I love that the outfits come to me, curated for my son's size and taste preferences.  I hate clothes shopping with my kids and I am so busy, I don't get time to surf online.  This is a great way to get a trendy outfit or 2 each month with little to no effort.  Remember, you can choose how much new/reThreaded items you receive, so this can working on a variety of budgets.   If you want to try Sprouting Threads, use this link with the code CYBER40 to save 40% on your first box. This means you will save 40% on the clothes you choose to keep, which is a HUGE savings.  This deal expires Dec 15th.
