GlobeIn September 2015 Review

GlobeIn September 2015 Review

GlobeIn theme for August is “Wellness” and 50% off the profits of this box is going to Watsi, an organization that partners donors with medical patients who can't afford treatment.  Boxes are $35.00 month to month and filled with handmade items from all over the world.  I love the quality of the items in my GlobeIn boxes.  You also find out about where each item comes from and who made it.

GlobeIn has also has a Benefit Basket.   The Benefit Basket contains one crafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan, all in a colorful, handwoven basket from their weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico.  You will also get story of the artisan, their community, and how you are making an impact on their lives.  The Benefit Basket is $19.95/month or $56.95 for 3 months, but you can get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT.

GlobeIn's box this month featured the quote “Health is a state of body.  Wellness is a state of being” J, Standford.

GlobeIn includes a guide to everything in the box and who makes each item.

Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico)

Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico) Each GlobeIn box includes a palm leaf basket that was handmade in Mexico. I use these baskets all over the house to store toys, toilet paper, accessories and more.

Blessing Bag (Ghana)

Blessing Bag (Ghana) $12.00  This bag is made through the organization ABAN A Ban Against Neglect, which helps young mothers gain skills to prevent homelessness.  This bag is lined with recycled water sachets, which protects it from spills.  I love the beautiful purple color and the stone keychain.

Herbal Eye Pillow (Peru) $13.00  This herbal eye pillow is filled with lavender to sooth and relax tired eyes.  It is handmade by the Shipibo people in the Amazon.  The dark black die is made using the juice of the huito berry.  I love the beautiful design!

There was a paper included with the eye pillow that explained how the eye pillow was made.

Baobab Powder (Benin)

Baobab Powder (Benin) $10.00 Made from the fruit of the Baobab tree and is made with antioxidants, vitamin C, probiotics, and calcium (among other nutrients).  This can be combined with shakes, cereal or fruit.  GlobeIn also included a recipe for a Baobab Berry Smoothie.

Watsi Gift Card

Watsi Gift Card $5.00 A $5.00 gift card was included in the box.  You can redeem this gift card online to help a child with who has medical needs.  There were many children to choose from, it was hard to choose just one child.

I helped Julnise, who has a hole in her heart.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $52.00.  I love the blessing bag and the eye pillow, but even more, I loved finding out about Watsi.  Wasti is a wonderful organization and it makes me feel good that 50% of the proceeds of this box, goes back to Watsi.  If you want to try GlobeIn, they are having a great Labor Day sale, use this link with the code LABORDAY to save $10.00 on your box or purchase of a 3-month subscription to the Benefit Basket.  The coupon is valid until11:59pm PST on Monday, September 7th.
