Bookroo August 2015 Review

Bookroo August 2015 Review

Bookroo is a new book subscription box just for kids!  There are two different subscriptions: board books and picture books.  Both subscriptions are $19.99 month to month.  The board book subscription sends 3 board books for 0-3 year olds, while the picture book subscription sends 2 books for 2-6 year olds.  If you have more than one child, let them know and they will alternate the boxes month to month, so you can get books for each child.  Right now, they have a special promotion, when you subscribe, you can gift a free box to a friend (you can’t be your own friend).

The Details:

Cost: $19.99/month.  $18.99month for 3 months, $17.50/month for 6 months.

Coupon: If you are one of the first 250 customers, you can gift a month FREE to a friend (the friend can’t be yourself).

Shipping: Free

What’s in the box?  Each month your child will get 3 board books or 2 picture books, depending on the plan you choose.

Bookroo shipped in a brown box with a cute little kangaroo on the front.

First Look

Each book was individually wrapped and everything was tied with a string.  You can save your books and give them as gifts for Christmas, birthdays, etc.  I ate wrapping gifts, so I loved the packaging.

Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleepover $12.95 Retail, $11.43 Amazon Hugless Dougless is a series of books featuring Dougless the bear.  In this story, Hugless Dougless is going to rabbit’s house for a sleep over and ends up inviting too many guests.

My boys loved this book and laughed throughout the story.

Pirate Nap: A Book of Colors $14.99 Retail, $12.33 Amazon This book has a rhyming text and features two little pirates getting reading for nap.  As they get ready, they go all around the house pretending to be pirates.  There are also color words featured throughout the story.  I love the colorful illustrations and the little boys reminded me of my own.

Here is a peek inside.  I like how the color words are typed in that specific color.

Final Thought: The total Amazon price for this subscription is $23.76, and the full retail value is $27.94.  My boys loved both selections and I was impressed that the cost of the subscription is even lower than Amazon prices.  Bookroo selected two great books, this is a great subscription for kids.  If you want to subscribe, use this link.  If you are one of the first 250 customers, you can gift a month FREE to a friend (the friend can’t be yourself).
