Geek Fuel April 2015 Review

Geek Fuel April 2015 Review

I saw that the April 2015 Geek Fuel Box would contain DC Comics items, so I knew my husband would enjoy it.  As it turns out, Geek Fuel went above and beyond and included Marvel too.  Geek Fuel is a geek and gamer box that is relatively new, but it is making a big impression!  Each box is $17.90 plus shipping, and they ship worldwide.  Geek Fuel always includes a shirt with every box, and I have loved all their boxes.

The Details

Cost: Month to month $17.90, $16.90/month for a 3 month subscription, $15.90/month for a 6 month subscription and $13.90/month for a year subscription

Shipping: Geek Fuel ships to the US ($6.00 shipping fee), Canada, and many more countries!

What's in the box? Every box will pack a t-shirt, toys, collectibles and more in their monthly boxes.

001

Geek Fuel ships in a bright red box and ships priority 2 day mail.  The box usually arrives near the end of the month.

First Look

Geek Fuel's information cards are two-sided.  The front features the shirt and the back features the contents of the box.

This is the back of the information card

007

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle/Avengers Shirt: The shirt this month is awesome.  This shirt is a Mashup of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Avengers.  April is Black Widow and the turtles are Hawk, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor.  My husband loves this shirt.

031

Jelly Belly Star Wars Beans and Avengers Candy Sticks: I remember candy sticks from my childhood, only they were call candy cigarettes.  The Jelly Bellys are Star Wars themed and are sparkling colors.   The Jelly Bellies include the flavors: Berry Blue, Blueberry, Grape Soda, Green Apple, Island Punch, Sour Apple and Wild Blackberry.

Avengers/DC Comics Breakfast Club Locker Mug:   This mug is just about as awesome as the shirt.  It features lockers of famous characters off of Avengers: Loki, Bruce Banner/Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Marvel Peter Parker/Spiderman.  I find it hilarious that Loki is the Princess.  The rest of the mash-up is as follows: Basket Case: Bruce Banner/Hulk, Brain: Iron Man/Tony Stark, Athlete: Captain America, and Criminal: Peter Parker/Spiderman.  I love the Breakfast Club and my husband loves Marvel.  This is the perfect mug to symbolize us!
019

Scribblenauts DC Comics Mystery Figure $4.99: So, when I first wrote this review, I called this guy Superman, but I was wrong.  This is Ultraman, who is an evil version of Superman from an alternate universe (Thank you to my YouTube Subscribers for helping me out). He is 3/18, so he is pretty common.

035

Kingdom Wars Battles Downloadable Game Code and Sticker Sheet  $20.00:  Kingdom Wars is a popular online game, however my husband doesn't play it.  This will be given to a friend who will use it.

036

Geek Fuel Geek Guide:  This guide is a little mini magazine with featured stories and articles around this month's theme.

038

Inside there is an article about famous “Teams”.  I am personally team “The Breakfast Club”.  I am not sure who my husband would pick.  He loves The Avengers, TMNT, and Ghostbusters.

020

Retro Videogame Magazine: $9.99 This magazine is packed with cool articles, just for geeks.  This magazine comes in your very first Geek Fuel box.

021

My favorite article in the box is about Atari.  I was awesome at so many Atari games, and now I pretty much stink at them all.

Winner: Fandango Movie Ticket: $15.00  WE WON!  So apparently, certain boxes contain a movie ticket for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and we won!  My husband is going to flip, he hasn't seen this yet.  My husband has the opening day of the movie on his calendar, and can't wait to go.

016

Final Thought: I didn't do a full breakdown of this box, but just the few items I have prices for, the value was $49.98.  That value doesn't include the mug, shirt, or candy.  This was one of the best geek/gamer boxes we have received.  The shirt is so freaking cool.  The mug is just as awesome, and the movie ticket was just icing on the cake.  You can check out Geek Fuel HERE.  You have four more days to get this box, so sign up now if you loved this box too.
