My Pretend Place February 2015 Review - Month 2 + $15.00 Coupon

My Pretend Place is really fun subscription box for kids 3-8.  My Pretend Place wants to inspire children to pretend, craft, and dress up through their dress-up and craft subscriptions.  The dress up box is for ages 3-6 and is $50.00 every 3 months (quarterly).  When you sign up, you choose between boy, girl or gender neutral.

Each box contains dress-up costumes, activities or crafts, and other pretend play inspiration.  On the months that you don't receive your big box of costumes, you will be emailed (or mailed) some bonus material.  I reviewed the Boy dress up box in January, you can read that review HERE.  I was sent the bonus material for the second month, so if you haven't read the original review, now would be a good time to do it.

Everything was shipping in a little tube.

My Pretend Place sent a letter to my Astronaut in Training.  This month's your child will explore moon rocks and have fun with space stickers.  Remember, since you pay $50.00 every three months, there is no new charge the second month.

Moon Rock Activity: For this activity, you child collects and pants rocks.  Once the rocks are all dry, the adult hides them in the yard or house (depending on weather).  The astronaut then explores the terrain to find all the rocks.  One you little astronaut has all the rocks, he/she can bring them back to their “lab”.  We currently have torrential rain, so we can't go outside and find rocks yet.

The second activity is space stickers.  There was a huge sheet of space stickers and each was labeled.  I love Astronomy and I almost majored in it, while in college.  I had a fantastic time with L (age 5), explaining each of stickers.  I even explained how Pluto was, but is no longer a planet.

Poster:  There was a poster put all the stickers on.  I explained where each planet went (plus Pluto) and let L put the rest where he wanted.

045

L got his astronaut uniform on, and went to work on his poster.

This is the finished poster.  I love where L put the nebulas.  This is poster is going on my son's door.

Final Thought: I was really surprised to get this bonus material in the mail.  I expected to be emailed some goodies, so this was a welcomed surprise.  I thought the January box was well worth the $50.00 for that box, so this is icing on the cake.  I love My Pretend Place, because it encourages my sons to use their imaginations.  If you want to subscribe,  save 30% on your first box when you use the coupon pretend (That's $15.00).  They also have a return policy!

Remember, you can pick between boy, girl and neutral!
