March 2015 GlobeIn Review + Exclusive Coupon "Sustain"

March 2015 GlobeIn Review + Exclusive Coupon “Sustain”

GlobeIn is an artisan subscription box that sends handpicked goodies from all over the world.  Each box is $35.00 and filled with hand-picked, handmade artisan products from all over the world.  GlobeIn looks for products that have great stories behind them.  When GlobeIn ships their box, they include an information card with the background on each product.  I love Globe In and I loved their February Box was wonderful.

GlobeIn ships in little brown boxes and they include a quote on the side.

First Look: The theme for this month is “Sustain”.  GlobeIn says, “March brings a box of eco-friendly surprises — goods and goodies that promise a better life for you, your family and the planet.  As with every month, your box supports independent artisans and farmers around the world. And this month, we've curated a special collection of items that you're certain to use, reuse and enjoy.”

Inside the box was a tote bag, a basket full of goodies and an information card.

The information card has information about each product and where each product is from.

A peek in the basket

006

Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico): $10.00 est  This “tenate” basket is made from discarded palm leaves from Oaxacan artisans.  The basket can take up to 6 hours to make and is painted with all natural paints.

048

Coconut Bowl (Vietnam): $14.00  This bowl is made from old coconut shells.  Each shell is cleaned, polished and painted.  I don't eat coconut, but I will happily use these bowls.  I love this bowl and I am buying 3 more, so we have a set of four.

029

Lotus Foods Volcano Rice (Indonesia) $4.69 This rice is grown in volcanic soil and the farmers use the SRI method to grow the rice.  This method uses less water and preserves biodiversity using less water, seed, land and no agrochemicals.

This is a look at the rice.

034

Sweet Riot Dark Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs (Columbia) $3.75 This is a little tin full of dark chocolate covered cocao nibs.  These are very addicting.

036

Eco Lips Lip Balm Relieve (Brazil) $5.99 This lip balm smells like chocolate and vanilla, and is made with Brazil nut oil.  The tube is made of biodegradable materials, so you can just bury this in the backyard, or put it in the compost pile.  The lip balm is gluten free and cruelty free. It also feels great on my lips.

027

Prana Market Tote (India) $5.00 This tote bag can be traced all the way back to its seed.  The bag is nice size and there is a pretty scene on it.  I love tote bags and this will be great for the library.

025

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $43.43.  This box didn't have a value as high as last month, but I loved it even more.  I am ordering three more bowls for my family and I love the tote bag.  I am also excited to try the rice.  The lip balm is already in my purse and I love it.If you want to try GlobeIn, use the code SUBMOM to save 25% on your first box ($8.75).  You will pay only $26.35 for your first box.  When you order now (through March 15), you will get the this box “Sustain”.  There are only 40 Sustain boxes left, so once they are gone, you will get April.
