January 2015 My Pretend Place Craft Subscription Review

January 2015 My Pretend Place Craft Subscription Review

My Pretend Place is a craft and dress up subscription box.  I recently reviewed the January Dress Up box HERE, and my kids loved it.  The dress up box is $50.00/Quarter (3-6 year olds) and it contains a dress up outfit, crafts and other pretend play inspiration.

The craft subscription box is $15.00/month and it comes with two crafts (both crafts are the same).  The craft box is for children 3-8 and you can choose between boy, girl and gender neutral.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the craft subscription on my doorstep.

The Details:

Cost: My Dress Up Box: $50.00/Quarter.  Craft Subscription $15.00/Month

What's in the box?

  • My Dress Up Box:  This box is for children 3-6.  Each box will contain  dress-up costumes, activities or crafts, and other pretend play inspiration.
  • Craft Subscription:  This box is for children 3-8.  Every month, your child will receive two crafts (same craft), so this is great for siblings.

Coupon: Use the coupon pretend to save 30% on your first box of the dress up box or the craft subscription.

When will my box ship?  Your first box will be sent within 2 days of subscribing.  After that, boxes will ship the first week of the month.  Remember the dress up box ships every 3 months.

When am I billed?  You will billed right before your box ships.

How do I cancel?  You can cancel from your account, after your first box ships.

Can I return?  Yes!  If you aren't happy, you can return your complete box for a refund!

I received the boy crafts for review

The craft subscription shipped in a box, wrapped in a grey polymailer bag.

Everything came in a little white box.

First Look

There was a letter address to the child.  The Evil Villians of the World are threatening the school playground, they the world needs your child's help.  The craft is to make Superhero Cuffs.

Inside the box was a general welcome card from My Pretend Place and a magnet.

The directions were only three steps and very easy to follow.

There were two different colors of Superhero Cuffs: Green and Blue.  As a mom of two boys, I loved that there were two of the same craft.  I also loved that there were two different colors, so each will know whose is whose.

My Pretend Place knows how much children love boxes, so they include supplies to turn the box into a suitcase.

This is everything that comes in the box

We got to work on the cuffs right away!

This is L's finished project.

My Superhero

This is another look.  The cuffs are made with velcro, so they are easy to take on and off.

My little T wasn't feeling good, but he decided he wanted to craft too.

These are T's finished cuffs.

Final Thought: The box was very cute and fun for my kids.  This box worked out to $7.50 per pair, which I think is pretty reasonable.  I also really liked that there are two of the same crafts.  For those who have multiple children, this is a great way to save money while giving your kids a fun craft.  For families with one child, the second craft can be done by a parent, friend, or your child.  If you want to try My Pretend Place, click here.  You can save 30% on your first box when you use the coupon pretend.
