First Look

022

The information card lists everything in the box, a brief description and some dietary information

023

The back of the information card had a recipe for crab and shrimp cakes.  My husband loves crab cakes and I love shrimp, so I am definitely going to try these.

017

Brenton Gluten Free Crackers $3.24  These peanut free, cholesterol free, certified gluten free crackers are made with arrowroot, green lentil flower and flax.  I tried these with some colby cheese and almost at the whole box.  These are fantastic!

016

Saffron Road Korean BBQ Crunchy Chickpeas $5.19  These chickpeas are gluten free, GMO free, and all natural.  This was the first thing I tried.  I have a love/hate relationship with chickpeas.  I have had really good one and others have been hard and not tasty.  These BBQ chickpeas really delivered a great quality BBQ taste and they are easy to eat.

Bonta d'Italia Pasta $1.00 each  This penne pasta is gluten free, lactose free and they contain no preservatives.  I love penne pasta. I personally love to mix heavy cream and Velveeta to create and yummy cheesy sauce for penne.  It's full of calories but OH SO GOOD.

012

Lentil Crackers Cracked Pepper: 55 cents for 2  I have had the sea salt lentil crackers and they are very tasty.  The cracked pepper ones turned out to be just as tasty.  These are great with humus.  They are gmo free, certified gluten free and a great source of fiber.

011

Peeled Snacks Apple Clusters $2.19 each  I had these in another subscription box and they were chewy, crunchy and very tasty!  They are gluten free, gmo free and all natural.

Dave's Homemade Sweet & Sassy Smokehouse Rub $6.19 This is gluten free, gmo free and Vegan.  I love BBQ and I could eat most foods, if it is bbq'd.  Dave Martin has been seen on Season One of Bravo's “Top Chef”.

018

Bonus Treats:  There was a Taste Guru magnet and a Enstrom Almond Toffee Milk Chocolate bar thrown as bonus items.  I don't love toffee, so I will give this to my mom, who will lvoe it.

Final Thought:  The total value of this box was $21.55.  I was really pleased with the value, as it was over the $19.00/month to month rate and it is a specialty food box.   When you currate a special dietary food box, it is hard to have a huge value in the box.  I thought Taste Guru did a great job bringing together a variety of tasty and gluten free treats.  I don't personally follow a gluten free diet, but I really liked everything I have tried.  This is a tasty food box, even people who don't follow a gluten free diet.  Want to subscribe?  Click HERE and get a Taste Guru Tote Bag with a 6 month subscription.  If you sign up for a year, you will get The Gluten Free Companion Guide, a Taste Guru Tote Bag, and the Gluten Free & More Magazine
