November 2014 Scent Trunk Review

November 2014 Scent Trunk Review

Scent Trunk is a cologne subscription box for men.  When you sign up, you fill out a profile about the type of scents you prefer.  This profile will help Scent Trunk pick the best scents for you.  Scent Trunk is $15.00 a month and each month, Scent Trunk sends three miniature fragrances.  I recently reviewed Scent Bird, which is a perfume subscription box for women.  I like that there is a comparable subscription for men.

I received this box for review.  We didn’t fill out a scent profile, so we were sent three random scents.

Scent Trunk ships in a plain manila envelope.

All the fragrances come in a little box.

Inside the box, there was a little velvet pouch, which contains all the fragrances.

Included in the box, was a general card about Scent Trunk.  Scent Trunk gives tips for applying your cologne.

The information card lists each scent and it’s various notes.

1.  Scent 16 (Cognoscenti) Scent 16 has top notes of tomato leaf, sage, leather and Agarwood.  C thought the leather smell was a bit too strong.  This scent wasn’t for him.

2.  City Oud (Dueto Parfums) City Oud has top notes of cinnamon and saffron.  C didn’t love this one, but I did.  It has a slightly sweet smell, but not in a girly way.

3,  Olympic Rainforest (Olympic Orchids) Olympic Rainforest has top notes of Virginia Cedar, fer, and rhododendron. C and I didn’t care for this one.  I am actually allergic to cedar trees, so that is probably why I don’t care for it.

Final Thought: I really like the idea behind this box.  It’s fun to experiment with new scents.  Since C didn’t fill out a profile, prior to this review, it hard to judge the profile system of picking out cologne.  I like how Scent Trunk describes each scent in detail.  At $15.00/month, this could be a fun subscription to try.  If you click HERE, you can use the code EARLY5 to get $5.00 off.
