Gourmet Spotting July 2014 Review – Gourmet Food Subscription Box

Gourmet Spotting July 2014 Review

Gourmet Spotting July 2014 Review

Gourmet Spotting sent me this box to review. They are a good subscription box that sends gourmet food to your door every month. Every month, you'll receive a box filled with delicious and tasty gourmet products from both up-and-coming and well known food brands. Each delivery will include a mix of categories, such as condiments, snacks, pasta & grains, sauces, etc… Products are generously sized, with enough product to allow you to enjoy it and share it.

I love finding new foods to eat, but every time I go to the grocery store,  feel like i just get the same items.  It also doesn't help that I live in a rural area, so I don't get exposed to some of the new brands.  One thing I love about Gourmet Spotting, is they donate a meal to charity with every box they sell.

The Details:

Cost: $29.99/month, $84.99/3 months. $167.99/6 months, $339.99/1 year.

Shipping: $7.95/month shipping free.  They ship priority mail.  They deliver to US and APO/AFO.

What's in the box? Every box has 4 to 6 tasty gourmet products.  Every month, you'll receive a box filled with delicious and tasty gourmet products from both up-and-coming and well known food brands. Each delivery will include a mix of categories, such as condiments, snacks, pasta & grains, sauces, etc…

When am I billed? When you place your order for the monthly membership, you will be billed for your first Gourmet Spotting Box immediately. After that, you will be billed on the anniversary of your sign up date each month after your first shipment.

How do I cancel? Simply drop them a message at [email protected] requesting to cancel your subscription. If you would like to cancel your monthly subscription, make sure to send in your cancellation request before 12 AM Eastern Standard Time on the DAY BEFORE the 1st day of the month, otherwise you will continue to be billed for the following Gourmet Spotting Box

 First Look

045

Gourmet Spotting included a information sheet about everything in the box.  They also note which state every item comes from.

041

The Jam Stand Sweet Wino Onion Jam – New York $10.00:  This 2013 Jam Stand spread combines a flavorful blend of Merlot and savory red onions. A divine wine-onion fusion that pairs perfectly with fine cheese, and makes for a uniquely sweet and satisfying topping for burgers, salad and sandwiches

This is fabulous.  I love the onion flavor, and while I don't drink wine, the Merlot adds a great flavor.  I am thinking of baking this with some chicken and using it has a marinade.

043

Back Yard Safari White Bean Chili- Georgia $3.95:  This seasoning is all natural and gluten free.  It serves 8 and is good for vegetarians too!  I love white bean chili, but I have always wanted to try it.

044

Carolina Creole Grits – South Carolina $5.00:  I have never really ate grits.  Gourmet Spotting suggests using grits at other meals.  I am going to try to do a dish for dinner.  That sounds really tasty.  My husband loves grits, so I know he will be be on board.

042

The King's Cupbaord Organics Cream Caramel Sauce-Montana $8.99:  This is made with fresh cream, sweet butter and Madagascar Bourbon vanilla,  All you really need to know, is this is fantastic.  Warm in up and drizzle on some ice cream and yum.

040

North Fork Sweet Potato Chips – New York $1.25: These sweet potato chips are so tasty.  This company uses the sunflower oil (used to make their chips), to make bio diesel to run their farm equipment.

039

Final Thought:  This box had a total value $29.19, which is around the subscription box.  It is pretty typical to not have a huge value in a gourmet box.  You are paying for the yummy treats.  I really liked everything in the box.  The caramel and onion jam were out-of-this-word AMAZING.  My boys loved the chips and I look forward to trying the rest of the items.  If you would like to try Gourmet Spotting, click HERE.
