Silly Rhino March 2014 – 3-4 Year Old Boy – Children Subscription Box

Silly Rhino March 2014

Silly Rhino March 2014

Silly Rhino was started by a mom of two boys who wanted to help other parents find healthy, fun, educational products.  Silly Rhino is $35.99 month to month, and there are discounts for longer subscriptions are available. Each month your child will get 4-5 environmentally friendly safe toys, personal care products, gear and accessories. I really love how unique everything is in the box.

The Details:

Cost: $35.99 a month, $34.99 a month for 3 months and $33.99 a month for 6 months

What's in the box? From Silly Rhino:

“You can expect each box to include four to five products for your baby and sometimes a surprise for you. All products are tailored to your child’s age and stage of development. At Silly Rhino, we try not to gender discriminate, so we concentrate on items that will work for both boys and girls, but that does not mean we would ever send pink bows to your manly little guy, promise.”

Age Breakdowns: When you order, you will choose between 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4.

How do I cancel? You can cancel right from your account (I love that)

When will I get my first box?  You must order by midnight on the 5th of the month, to receive that month's box.

When am I billed? You are billed the day you sign up and every 30 days from the day you sign up thereafter . If you sign up on Feb 21st, you will be billed again March 21st. 3 and 6 month subscriptions are billed at the time of purchase. When your 3 or 6 months is up, your account will revert to month to month

Garden Tool Set by G&F

Make a Mask by Mudpuppy $11.99: This is a mask kit with 20 paper masks in 4 designs. It also includes the elastic!  The masks are also printed with nontoxic, soy based inks.

Natural Egg Dye by Natural Earth Paint

Natural Egg Dye by Natural Earth Paint

Natural Egg Dye by Natural Earth Paint $8.95: This includes 4 colors of natural dye that make 5 – 6 colors.  There is also an instruction sheet with a collection of fabulous “Creative Egg Art Ideas.”  The kit is made in the USA, Gluten-free, Vegan, and GMO-free!

Why use natural dyes? Some food dyes approved by the FDA include colors synthesized from petroleum derivatives. Most red dyes are made from carmine, which is essentially squashed bugs.

I will be honest, I usually just buy the PAAZ egg dye kit, but I will gladly save myself the money and use this one this year.  I like that the dye is safer for my children as well.

Left Right Crayons by International Arrivals

Left Right Crayons by International Arrivals

Left Right Crayons by International Arrivals $7.95:  These are perfect for L.  They help the child work on their grip and are great for left or right handed children.  I am pretty sure L is left handed, but I am still not for sure.

Bird on a Nest Soap by LoveLee Soaps

Bird on a Nest Soap by LoveLee Soaps

This is super cute and I will probably just use it as a spring decoration in my bathroom.  This is too cute to use.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $46.81.  The MSRP was even higher than that, but I always use Amazon prices when available.  My favorite items were the gardening tools, crayons and egg dye.  I love how Silly Rhino includes so many unique items, that I won't find at my local stores.  Silly Rhino is a great box for kids 0-4, and each box is always filled with safe, fun items.  Click HERE to check out Silly Rhino.
