January Julep Maven Review | Modern Beauty and Free Box

Julep Maven Box Changes

Julep Maven Box Changes

I chose to get the Modern Beauty box this month.  I always get a box with nail polish, however Modern Beauty featured products to help care for your nails.  I have many different kinds of polish, I need some products to help care for my nails.  The first thing I noticed about this box, was that it was pink and it had maven written on it.  I am not sure if this is a permanent change, or just something different for this month.  Julep changes up their boxes from time to time.

Julep Boudoir Collection

This month’s theme was the Boudoir Collection.  The quote of the month was “2014 will be my year”

Stickers

Nail Polish Stickers

I chose to get the nail polish stickers as an add on.  Some of the older polishes don’t have the swatch stickers at the top.  I store all my polishes standing up, so these make it easy to find which polish I want.

Julep Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops

Julep Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops

These are my favorite item of the box.  I have a 4 year old and 22 month old, so I don’t have a long time to wait for my nails to dry.  To use, wait one minute after applying your polish, then apply 1-2 drops per nail.  These are also scented with lavender and are good for your cuticles.

Cuticle Softener and Remover

Cuticle Softener and Remover

This is enriched with lanolin and helps remove overgrown cuticles, and helps to keep them from coming back.  This also removes stains from nails.  I am excited to see if it works, as some polish can stain your nails a bit.

Essential Cuticle Oil

Essential Cuticle Oil

This has some of the same cuticle benefits as the softener and remover, but also helps strengthen your nails and it extends the life of your manicure.  I hate when I get a tear in my nail or my polish.  This has roller ball for easier use.

Cuticle Stick

This was a bonus item in the box.  I am not sure the technical name, so I am just calling them cuticle sticks.  These are a must when caring for your cuticles.

Final Thought: I really loved this box.  It really gave me some nail care items I needed.  I have so much polish, I didn’t miss getting any colors.  The quick dry drops are my favorite and I hope they work well.  I need to pain my nails more, but I always have kids to care for or places to go.  I would love to be able to paint and go.  If you are interested in trying Julep, you can click HERE and get a starter box for $3.99.  You can skip Julep any month you want, and you always see the box before you get it.  Julep is one of my oldest subscriptions, and I love it.

the cuticle sticks are also called orange sticks! i think it’s a regional thing. they are made out of orange wood or were originally. i think most manufacturers call them nail care sticks or cuticle sticks now.

I thought they were orange sticks, but then I thought that might be a specific brand or color.
