Box of Happies Review and Discount

Box of Happies is a brand new subscription box company, that send 3-5 handmade items to your door.  Happies are designed to bring a smile to your face.  Who wouldn't want a box full of surprises, designed to make them smile?  I was very excited when Box of Happies sent me a box to review.

The Details:
Cost: $28.99 ($24.99 plus $4.99 shipping).
Subscription plans:  You Pick!  You pick what months you want.  When you sign up, you can pick from October 2013-August 2014.  You could pick Oct, Dec, and Feb, or any combination.  I love the flexibility.
What's in the box?  You get 3-5 hand made items from categories: jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath & beauty, photography, and housewares.
How am I billed? You prepay for whatever boxes you order.  You pay by Paypal.
When does my box ship? Boxes ship out the first of the month and you will receive your box within the first week of that month.
How do I cancel?  Since you buy only the month's you want, there is no canceling.

The Box-$3.25
The box ships in a USPS Priority Mail padded envelope.  All the items were packaged in a reusable box.  I really like that the box is reusable.  This can be used for so many things.
Box Idea Card
There was a card that included ideas for using the box.  It can be used for hair accessories, first aid kit, toiletries, make-up box and so much more.  What would you use your box for?  The back had links to Box of Happies social networks and a retail price list for the items.
First Look
There was another card on the inside lid that had all the businesses that contributed to the box.

Looking at all the items in the box really made me happy.
Peterson Designs Recipe Cards ($2.00 for 4 cards)
These are nice sturdy cards to right your favorite recipes on.  I am going to use these, to write down my favorite recipes from my mom.  I would love to be a great cook like she is.
Leas Letters: Post-It Holders-Pen & Post It's ($4.00 plus shipping)
This is a cute hand made post it holder.  It came with a full thing of post its and a gel pen.  This would be perfect on a desk or in your purse.  The company also included a code to save 10% on your order “BOX13”.
All Glass Art-Glass Ring ($3.00-$5.00)
This is a beautiful, fun ring.  This would be fun to wear on a night out.  I love that it is big and sparkles!
Mint Marbles Handmade Necklace ($10.00 plus shipping)
This is a nautical themed necklace with a little blue marble.  The necklace is nice for everyday and something I will wear.
These are an “Original Happy” made just for you ($8.00 plus shipping)
I love these earrings.  I wear mostly silver and these are just my style.  They are a nice quality and not too heavy.

I love the detail on the earrings
The Complete Box
Final Thought: This box made me happy!  The total value for this box was at minimum $30.35, if you take the low estimate on the ring.  I like that everything was packaged so nicely.  The earrings  and necklace were both in little drawstring bags.  I received a bigger value than the purchase price, and that doesn't take into account shipping.  I have personally bought several things from Etsy, and I know shipping adds up.  I like getting a little present for me every month.  This would also make a great gift for a dear friend.  Since you buy only the month's you want, you can buy 1 boxes or 5!  I love that aspect of this company.  If you are interested in trying Box of Happies, click HERE and use the code “5PERCENT“, to save 5% on your entire order.  The first Box of Happies ships out Oct 1st!  Also, stay tuned to the blog for a giveaway with Box of Happies and the United Box Bloggers!
