First Look

The theme for October was “Animal Hospital”.

All the activities are listed on this sheet.

There are all kinds of activities in the book for your child to complete.

Each kit comes bagged with all the materials needed.

Activity #1

Dress Like A Veterinarian: Each activity pack comes with an information card about the activity. For this activity, your child will make stethoscope, head mirror, and name badge.  They can also work on their writing skills. The project is rated very low messiness, low difficulty, and very little time involved.

Once your child is done making all the pieces of the costume, they will have a complete costume.

The stethoscope used a headband to make the earpiece.

This is the completed vet costume! It turned out cute and my son can play with it over and over.

There was also a sheet to practice writing skills and a sticker sheet to learn body parts.

Activity #2

Pet Clinic: For this activity, your child paints a wooden veterinarian and animals, makes a briefcase, works on graphing skills and learns to move like animals.

My son gets excited anytime painting is involved.

He got right to working painting.

The briefcase was easy to put together, just attach the velcro pieces.

My son has been practicing graphing at school, so this was a pretty easy activity for him.

Activity #3

Time For Your Check Up For this activity, your child can give their new pet a check up. There were many different tools and supplies includes, so the activity stays fun

The little blue balls are pills for the pill bottle, there is a cone, cotton balls, band-aids, a syringe, and tweezers.

There were also sheets that your child could fill out about the pet's health.

My son's dog needed to take his medication. My son played with this the longest of the activities and he has come back several times since, to play with it again.

Activity #4

Construct Your X-Ray Machine  The box turned into part of the fun for this project. The box turns into an x-ray machine and your child can find the broken bone.

The box was a bit tricky to put together, so I had to help my son. He was able to easily find the broken bone and we also talked about the other bones in the dog skeleton.

Final Thought: While this review is pretty late going up (we have a demanding schedule), my son had a blast with it. He loves to dress up and pretend, so this box is always fun for him. If you want to try this box, use the coupon CRATEJOY30 to save 30% on your 1st box.
