First Look

The August 2018 Project is Mosaic Resin Tray

The mosaic resin tray box came with ArtResin Resin, watercolor paint, wood tray, rubber cement, gluestick, scissors, cup, white paint, foam brush, craft stick, watercolor paper, and straw/toothpick.

The first steps were to paint the tray white and make liner marks on the paper with the rubber cement.

Once the rubber cement was dry, you paint the pieces of watercolor paper with your choice of paints. You can do the same design for each one, or something different. I chose to do a combination of blue and purple colors.

Once the paint was dry, you cut out shapes from the paper and glue them to the tray. Once the glue was dry, you mix the resin and pour it over the pieces. Using the toothpick, you can poke any bubbles to pop them or use the straw to blow out the bubbles.

This is my finished piece! It turned out great. I think it might have looked better if I had cut the pieces smaller, but I am still happy with the piece. The resin dried hard and now is a clear slick surface.

Final Thought: I enjoyed completing this month's project. Right now, I have my tray in the bathroom to store little items. The scissors, paints, and glue can all be used again, which is nice with small children. You can use the code CRAFTYMOM to receive free shipping on your subscription.
