First Look

There was an information sheet with everything in the box.

Where Is the Amazon? by Sarah Fabiny $3.77  My son enjoys reading about real places and things. This book is full of facts about the Amazon. The book discusses first settlers, layers of a rainforest, creatures and more. There is even a pullout map in the back in the back of the book.

This is a look in the book.

Fractions Wheel You can pull the blue part of the fraction wheel out to a line and see what the fraction will be. I think my son has a good handle on fractions, but maybe we will start working on adding fractions.

Superhero Joe Hardcover by Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman $10.62 When Joe hears his parents cry for help, he leaps into action. He needs a tool in the basement, but he is afraid of going to the basement. To fight his fear, he makes himself into a superhero. This is a cute book to encourage kids to fight their fears.

Woodshop Helicopter $5.00 My son really enjoys building things, so he will enjoy assembling this helicopter. This includes everything you need to build a helicopter, including the glue.

Unfolding Journeys – Wonders of Egypt (Lonely Planet Kids) Paperback by Lonely Planet Kids $14.53 This book unfolds to reveal 54 different facts about Egypt. This can tear out of the book and it's taller than either of my kids. My son is going to hang this on his wall.

i Explore Bugs $2.00 Bugs, bugs, bugs! This book included 3D glasses and various bugs to see up close. I have never been a fan of bugs, but my kids are fascinated by them.

The picture on the bottom right is what you look at through your glasses.

Recycle Activity $1.00 Your child can sort the two sheets of stickers in the four recycling bins. This is a fun way to reinforce ways we can recycle.

Craft Smart Recycling $11.95 This book is filled with 12 different projects your child can complete. Some of the projects include a bracelet, brooch, pincushion, monster, and jewelry.

My 8-year-old is always making things from random boxes around the house, so I think he will have fun with this box.

Reading Prompt This is a two-page card with a short story and two questions for each story. This card would be a quick review of reading comprehension.

Pencil and Erasers There was new pencil and three erasers in the box. My son is always writing, drawing or doing homework, so we go through school supplies.

Final Thought: This box had a total value over $48.87. My son really enjoys this subscription. He can't wait to put together the helicopter and he is already reading the book.  If you want to subscribe, use the coupon LEARN to save 10% on your subscription.
