Mac & Mia April 2018 Review

Mac & Mia is cute clothing on-demand service, just for kids.  Similar to Stitch Fix, you pay $20.00 and fill out a profile about your preferences.  You will be assigned a stylist who you can give more information to.  Sizes run from newborn to age 6 (newborn to 6T).  You can take up to 5 days to make your choices before sending back your clothing in a prepaid envelope.  Clothing runs around $35.00/piece, while accessories run around $12.00.  If you keep 2 or more items, you $20.00 styling fee will be applied to the total.  If you keep your entire box, you will get 15% off.

I really hate taking my kids clothing shopping and I am often busy to shop online, so I was excited to try this out.  For my review, I filled out a profile for my 6 year old.

Mac & Mia ships in a pretty white box with little rainbow dots all over.

First Look. You get so many clothes when you try this subscription.

The box came with some punch out paper dolls with stick on clothing. There is also a return back for any clothes you don't want. Just check out on your online account, put the clothes in the bag and drop it at any at UPS location.

Each box comes with a booklet with all the items in the box.

Inside, there is a note from your stylist.  I requested very soft fabrics and clothing that is easy to pull on and off. There is a list of the clothes in the box, along with your purchase price.

Mikki Miette – Jaz Shirt $37.00 This shirt is 70% polyester and 30% rayon. It's a very soft shirt, but it was a bit too tight and a little see through. It looks cute here, but didn't really work for my son.

Egg Baby – Jake Short $40.00 These shorts are 90% cotton 10% polyester. I didn't know if these were supposed to be worn with the above top, so I put them together. I wouldn't wear them both together after seeing the outfit. The shorts fit, but I don't love light-colored shorts, given my son attract dirt everywhere.

This was the outfit I paired together. It would be better if I moved it with different pieces, but you can get the idea.  The shorts were cute but too light and I just didn't like the shirt on him. Note: My son is “headless” in all the pictures, because I am crazy private and I like to protect his privacy.

Kapital K Cactus Graphic Pocket Tee I love Kapital K clothing. The pieces have a nice thickness to the material and they are so soft. This cactus shirt is just so cute and it will be perfect for our trip out west this year.

Bitz Kids Mix Color Sweatpants $36.00 These are some of the most stylish sweatpants we have owned. I like that they are a black marbled color, so they will go with so many things. The pockets are longer, so my son can shove more treasures in them.

This is a closer look at the top of the pants. The button is just for decoration, very stylish.

This outfits looks so comfortable, I want to wear it. The pants are a bit too long, but my little guy is on the shorter side, but he is growing.

Ice Cream Castles – Jersey Short Sleeve Crew $36.00 As soon as I saw the bananas on this shirt, I knew we had to keep it. My son loves bananas, more than any other food. This also has pineapples with pirate patches and toucans.

Hoonana Black Denim Pants $46.00 I love this pants! They are a soft denim pant with an elastic waist, so they are easy to pull on and off. I love the look and the fit of these. This was one of my favorite items in the box.

This is a look at the top of the pants. When worn, shirts cover the top of the pants.

The banana shirt and the jeans look great together.

California Vintage – Sunglasses Tee $39.00 When I first saw this, I though “on no, white”. I hate while clothing because I know it's going to get stained. My son ended up really liking the shirt, so I will let him keep it.

It also looks great with the jeans.

Chaser – Kickin' It Short Sleeve Tee $29.00 My son always goes 100 mph, so I think this is a great shirt for him.  It's cute and super soft.

Splendid – Stripe Print Shorts $29.00 These are so soft. They are made with a rayon/cotton blend. I would've kept these, but they were a bit too big. They have an elastic waist that isn't adjustable.

I thought this outfit looked really cute together.

Bitz Kids – Printed Zip Up Hoodie $44.00 This is a nice looking hoodie. We don't have any that don't have any graphics. This is a good item to have in the mornings when the weather is a bit cooler.

Very cool dude!

Egg Baby – Kyle Henley Top $48.00 This is a very stylish top!  I forgot to take a separate picture of the shirt, but you can see it well here. It has 3/4 sleeves with little buttons on each sleeve. This is a very different from the other shirts he has already.

Final Thought: The total cost to keep everything was $399.00, but they take off $20.00 for the styling fee. If I kept everything, I would get an additional 15% off ($59.85). I ended up returning more items than I would've saved keeping everything. Remember, if you want to keep everything but an item or two, it may workout better to keep everything. I really loved my son's box. I thought the stylist did a great job picking out items that he would like and want to wear. Use this link and get a $20 credit to use toward your clothing purchases.  The styling fee is $20, so this is like trying the box free! Note: If you buy 2 or more items, you will get your styling fee back too!
