Universal Yums October 2023 “Germany” Review + Coupon

Disclosure: This post contains referral/affiliate links.

Universal Yums is a snack subscription box that sends boxes of curated snacks and treats from all over the world.  Each month, a new destination is picked.  Each box is packed with snacks that are a mix of flavors: salty, sweet, spicy, fruity, and more. Some that you may have never tasted.

There are three different subscription boxes. The Yum box is $15 and has 5-7 snacks. The Yum Yum box is $26.00 and has 10-12 snacks plus a bonus specialty food. The Super Yum box is $41 and comes with 15-18 snacks, a unique drink, a specialty food, and a cultural activity. The Super Yum box also contains bonus content. There is also a colorful activity/informational book in each box.

Universal Yums ships in a white and blue box.

First Look. A map of Germany is in the box with details about different islands.

The back of the card has a ranking system for all the snacks in the box.

There are fun stickers and emojis that you can place by the snacks in the information book.

Universal Yums sends a colorful book with pictures and descriptions of each item.

Ketchup Potato Sticks

In Germany, fries, ketchup, and currywurst are pared into a yummy dish. This snack is crunchy fries with a ketchup flavor. They are delicious!

Lemon Wafer Bar

Germany is the second biggest importer of lemons. These are similar to the wafer cookies and the ones they have in grocery stores, only made with lemon. I didn't end up liking these.

Milk Chocolate with Forest Fruit Filling

Germany has some of the best chocolate in the world. This bar is milk chocolate and filled with a liquid fruit filling. The bar is very rich and a good combination of chocolate and fruit. My family member loved this bar.

Ham & Cheese Corn Puffs

Ham and cheese are frequently found together in German foods. These crunchy snacks are small waffle shapes and have a smokey ham flavor with a hint of cheese.

Stracciatella Bonbons

These chocolate treats are made in Halloren, a German factory that opened in 1804. These chocolates are filled with stracciatella, which is cream with chocolate flakes. One of my sons has enjoyed eating these.

Sweet Cherry Cookies

These cookies are buttery soft, with rich cherry filling in the middle. They are so rich and flavorful that you just need one to fulfill your sweet tooth.

Candy

The box came with a little bag of individual candies.

Milk & Honey Caramels

These caramel candies are mixed with honey and are very flavorful. I am not a huge fan of caramel, but if you like caramel flavor, you'll love these.

Assorted Sour Fruit Candy

These fruity flavors are my favorite treat in the box. They are similar to a starburst but firmer. They come in apple, passionfruit, blackcurrant, and grapefruit. I would love to have more of these.

Dark Chocolate Marzipan Bar

I wish there were more than one of this treat. Dark chocolate surrounds yummy marzipan.

Muhle Board Game

This game is a cross between checkers and tic-tac-toe! I like there is a game to play each month, but that will discontinue with the December box.

Onion Rings

They look similar to Funyuns, but Zwiebels have a more robust onion flavor. I like these better!

Final Thought: This was a great box with many different kinds of snacks. Our favorite snacks were the fruit candies and the Stracciatella Bonbons. If you want to try Universal Yums, use this link to save $5.00 on your first box.
