First Look

The theme this month is “Drawing with Oil Pastels Inspired by Claude Monet.” There was an information guide with everything you needed to complete the projects:

There were several tools included in the package, all put in a storage case.  There was an artist pencil and eraser, and blending tools: 2 tortillions and color shaper.

There was a set of 16 Pentel oil pastels to use in this month's project.  These can be saved and reused for multiple projects.

The paper projects were all put in this Indigo Artbox envelope.

Sketch Paper: This thin paper was included for sketching and planning out your picture.

Mixed Media Paper There were tree thicker pieces of paper for your finished projects.

Butcher Paper This paper folds out  to protect your work space.

Art Inspiration This art inspiration was included to help guide you to make your own art.

Suggested Instructions

  1. Protect your work area with the butcher paper.
  2. Put the art inspiration to one side
  3. Sketch on the thinner paper to make you art.  Once you are ready to for the oil pastels, use the mixed media paper.
  4. Color your art with oil pastels, using blending techniques.
  5. Share your work with Indigo Art Box.

Final Thought: This is a great subscription for people who love art. I wasn't able to complete the project yet, but it looks fun!  Indigo Art Box included informative videos, materials and inspiration for you to get creative.  If you want to subscribe to Indigo Art Box, check them out here.
