The Details

Cost $25.95/month

What's in the box? Each box comes with instructions, materials, and 1-2 projects to complete.

The box shipped in a large teal box.

First Look.  All the materials were wrapped up and the instructions were tucked in the inside of the lid.

There were a few pressed leaves that your child could use in the projects, or your child can explore outdoors and collect their own leaves.

There were 5 containers of acrylic paint.

There were various tools to use for the projects: 2 paintbrushes and a toothbrush.

One of the projects was to make your own easel out of clothespins.

There was a 5 x7 canvas and four 4 x 4 small square canvases and a piece of plastic grid.

Tacky Glue You don't need to supply anything for this subscription. Tacky glue was included to make the easel

This month's projects are all about using the outdoors to create your masterpieces.  Crafters combine, leaves, paint and canvases to create masterpieces.

The first project we completed was the easel. There were plenty of clothespins to create multiple easels.

This is our completed easel.  We used a glue gun instead of the tacky glue, so we could get it dry faster.

The instruction guide covered several different techniques to paint with leaves.

Paint around a leaf The first piece was to paint around a leaf.  Instead of just outlining the leaves, we painted all around the leaves.  This ended up being our favorite piece

Make a leaf print The second painting was made by painting leaves, then pressing them into the canvas. Since this project is for 8-12 year olds, my 7 year old did the projects.

The finished pieces turned out well, though we wished the prints had came out a bit better.

We decided to do the leaf print again, on a smaller canvas.

Instead of a traditional leaf print, we did a more abstract leaf print.  I really like how it turned out.

Final Thought: This was a really fun box to do with my 7 year old.  This box was easy enough for him to complete, but not too advanced.  I think this could also be a fun box for adults.  This is a great new subscription, packed with supplies and easy to follow instructions.  Check out The Terra Crate and use the code TCHOLIDAY25 to save 25% on any subscription.
