First Look

Julius Caesar Book  This booklet was packed with information on Julius Caesar, including background, recipes, crafts and more.

Here is what was in the book:

Here is a glimpse inside the book.  It was really packed with information.

Julius Caesar and the Story of Rome This audio CD tells the story about Julius Caesar. Rome and also William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar play.  We played the cd while cooking dinner and my son thought it was interesting.

The Laurel Wreath Craft The booklet explained the background behind the laurel wreath and included materials to make your own.  L and I did this together, because he had trouble keeping the leaves in place, while wrapping them.  I took the craft as an opportunity to show L my pictures wearing a laurel wreath in college, when I was inducted into my honor society.

This is the finished laurel wreath.

Cartoon: The was a cartoon to color about Julius Caesar.  Now that L is learning to read, he was able to read most of the cartoon himself.

L coloring his cartoon, wearing his laurel wreath.

Small Items There were two small items in the box: a replica Roman Coin and Julius Caesar sticker. L was really excited about the coin.  He loved learning about the coin and has placed it with his treasures.

Seriously, he loved the coin.

Final Thought: History Unboxed is included another educational and fun box.  My son wasn't sure about learning about Julius Caesar, but he ended up having a great time with the box.  This is a great subscription for homeschoolers or for kids who love history.  If you want to subscribe, use the code subboxmom to get 5% off your first subscription.
