Snakku is a Japanese snack subscription service that is very different from other boxes I have reviewed.  Snakku specializes in sending Japanese snacks that you can only get in Japan.  All the snacks come from local snack makers in Japan.  Boxes are $38.95/month and filled with 10-15 expert curated snacks.  If you upgrade to a 3 or 6 month subscription, you will get a free Traditional Japanese Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth.

First Look

Snakku gives detailed information about all the snacks in the box.

Shiogama This treat is often enjoyed by Japan's royal family. The outside is made of rice and sugar.  The filling is made of lightly salted Azuki red bean paste.

Zunda Chiffon Cake This is a wheat flavored cake filled with custard.

Zunda Manju This is a thin-skinned rice cake, filled with a Zunda filling.

Sendai Sunda Tarte Cookie These cookies are topped with a Zunda filing and almond glaze.

Zunda Bamboo Dango These little rice cakes are coated with Mochiko, and filled with sweet red bean paste.

Matcha Azuki Cake These soft cookies are made with green tea and filled with Azuki red bean paste.

Kani Crab Chip These are light and fluffy chips made with Japanese crab.

Zarajiman These are Senbei rice crackers covered in large sugar crystals.

Cheese Kibun Senbei Of all the different kinds of Senbei, these are my favorite.  This are think Senbei, made with cheddar cheese.

Ko-Ume Candy These tiny candies are made with ume plum and are sour and sweet.
