First Look

The information card lists everything in the box, along with a description of each item.  The spring box is all about the outdoors: hiking, biking, or whatever you enjoy.

There was a little postcard to help you pack for a bike tour.

Hungry Hikers Murray's Hurried Curry  $10.99 You can make this curry dish in just 10 minutes, just add water!  This is a mix of curry, coconut, middle-eastern couscous and chicken.  I have never had curry, but it looks really good.

Here is a look at the dish.  I am not a big outdoor person, but this will make a super fast dinner!

Conundrum Trail Mix $10.00 (8 oz)  This is a great hardy mix of fruits and nuts.  It has coconut in it, but I couldn't even taste it. Ingredients: Hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries and blueberries, raisins, maple syrup, lavender, rosemary, coconut, Jacobsen flake salt, and a pinch of brown sugar.

I normally don't reach for trail mix, but this had the right balance of fruit and nuts.

Olympia Provisions Kleine Schweine Pepperettes $5.00 Olympia Provisions is the first USDA approved salumeria in Oregon.  My family loves getting new charcuterie to try.  This had a smokey flavor with just a little bit of spice.  My 6 year old ate most of these!

PDX by Bike Guide $5.00  This little guide fits right in with the theme of the box.  This book contains tips and tricks for getting around Portland by bike.

This is a look inside the book.  I like they included information on how to take your bike on the train and other forms of public transportation.

Nineteen27 S'Mores Vanilla S'Mores Kit $15.95 By far my favorite item in the box.  This kit includes all the supplies you need for a gourmet s'more.

The Cocoa Graham S'mores kit includes the following:

My box was missing the roasting instructions, but I didn't need them.

I should have included my completed s'more, but lets just say it was fantastic.  The chocolate was rich and dark, while the marshmallow was so soft and sweet.  This was the best s'more I have had.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $46.94.  Since everything was artisan made, you would have to pay individual shipping to buy everything in the box.  I was pleased with the value, as it is right  in line with the cost/value of other artisan based subscriptions.  For people who love to travel and try new artisan foods, this is a great subscription to try something new.  Even better, you can use this link and the coupon BOXMOM15OFF for 15% off when you subscribe.
