Fun Run Box February 2016 Review

Fun Run Box is a running challenge subscription box designed to get you out and going!  When you subscribe, you will pay $35.00/month to month and you will start with the training box (box 1).  You will get a shirt, along with other gear to get your started.  When you sign up, you let Fun Run Box know if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced runner.  The subscription is set up in a series of 6 boxes, though you can cancel at any time.  Once you get all 6 boxes, you will get a shirt, metal and certificate.  Each box contains challenges to complete, along with 4-6 items (worth at least $35.00) to get you going.

I love to run, though I have trouble staying motivated during the winter.  I love running outside, so Spring and Fall are my favorite times to run.  I received the second box in the running series to review, and I was hoping it would get me motivated.

The Details:

Cost: $35.00/month, $33.00/month for 3 months, $28.00/month for 6 months (complete the series)

What's in the box? Each box contains challenges and 4-6 running items.

Fun Run Box ships in a really nice box!  I love the runner on the front.

There was an a magnet and information card in the box.  Put the magnet in a prominent place to remind you to run.

The information card had a list of everything in the box, a description and the retail value.

One thing that sets Fun Run Box apart from other running/workout boxes, is their challenges.  Each box contains several challenges to do throughout the month.

I like that Fun Run Box breaks down several challenges based on the type of runner you are.  For example, “Run hard up stairs for 10/20/30 seconds 4/8/9 times.  A beginner would run hard up the stairs for 10 seconds and will do it 4 times.

One More Mile Arm Warmers $19.00 I love these and they are great for variable weather.  These are made of a breathable nylon material and work as sleeves.  You can keep them down when it's cold and when you get warm, you can push them up.

Find Your Happy Pace Gloves $3.00 These are poly-cotton gloves that will keep you warm on cold winter mornings.  Fun Run Box says these are “throw away” gloves, so you can toss them aside during a race if you wish.  Interestingly, most races donate tossed running clothing to homeless shelters.

Probar Bolt $2.50 This is great for a long run or a post run snack.  It's packed with electrolytes, B vitamins, caffeine and yerba mate.  I used to eat these often when I was running 7+ miles.

Hothands Toe Warmers with adhesive $2.00  You can stick these to your socks and get 8 hours of warmth.  My husband and I run a race every year on Thanksgiving morning and it's always freezing.  I am saving these for that race.  No matter how long you run when it's below freezing, your toes never get warm.

Head Buff $10.00 This can be worn in 20 different ways: headband, respirator, pound cap and more. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy, so it's not going to trap in sweat.

This is all the different looks you can create with the Head Buff.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $36.50.  This is a great box!  Everything in the box was useful for running right now.  I love getting a box of items that are very practical and not just fun.  The challenges are a great addition to the box and they work to really motivate you to run.  If you want to subscribe, use this link with the coupon SAVE5SBM to save $5.00 on any subscription plan.
