Junior Explorers November 2015 Review

Junior Explorers is a family favorite subscription in our household.  My 6 year old loves video games and computers, so this is a really fun subscription for him.

When you sign up with Junior Explorers, you will receive a Welcome Kit.  Once your child has his/her welcome kit, your child will go on various missions.  I have reviewed several missions and you can check them out here.

Junior Explorers is a subscription service for children 6-11.  Boxes are $19.00/month (plus $2.00 shipping) and each month, your child gets a new online mission, along with a packet of goodies.  The goal of Junior Explorers, is to teach kids about the environment and animals, all while keeping things fun.

This month, Junior Explorers is going on a Dinosaur Dig.

History's Mysteries Dinosaurs Activity Book $4.99  This book is filled with pages to color, puzzles, and other activities.

Punch Out Models: There was an Archaeopteryx, Eustreptospondylus, and a Deinouchus you can punch out and put together.

Jurassic Dinosaurs Sticker Activity Book:  This book has a scene and removable stickers.

This is a look at everything in the book.

Temporary Tattoos:  My kids aren't really into temporary tattoos but I think they are pretty neat.

Dinosaurs:  Every month includes two little rubber animals and this month included a Corythosaurus and an Ankylosaurus.

There is a comic that talks about this month's mission.  The Junior Explorers are at the National Museum of Natural History to learn more about dinosaurs.  L really liked this month's comic, because we recently visited the National Museum of Natural History.  In addition to the comic, there was activities, games, and a recipe to make your own fossil.

After reading the packet, you are directed to go to your Junior Explorers online portal to explore more.

This month's activity was to dig up a fossil and learn more about the dinosaur.

The first part of the dig is to uncover the dinosaur.  You use a rock pick, then a rock hammer and chisel and then you use a brush to get the remaining dirt and sand off.

Once the dinosaur is uncovered, it was time to wrap and paster the fossil.

One the dinosaur was shipped back to the museum, you can begin to assemble the dinosaur.

After completing the steps, your child can learn more about the Stegosaurus.  Since I was a little kid, I have loved dinosaurs, so I really had fun with this month's theme.

Final Thought: This was a great month and Junior Explorers never fail to disappoint.  Junior Explorers combines some fun activities with an online activity.  My 6 year old is rather picky with the toys and games he likes, but he loves Junior Explorers.  You can buy 1 month and get 2 months free with this link.  You will be signed up for a subscription, so cancel if you don't want to continue.
