Snakku September 2015 Review
Snakku is a Japanese snack subscription service that is very different from other boxes I have reviewed. Snakku specializes in sending Japanese snacks that you can only get in Japan. All the snacks come from local snack makers in Japan. Boxes are $38.95/month and filled with 10-15 expert curated snacks. If you upgrade to a 3 or 6 month subscription, you will get a free Traditional Japanese Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth.

The box features a slide out box. Snakku has great packaging.
The two sided information card is both beautiful and informative. The pictures help identify everything in the box.
Featured Snack: Ogurasansou is the featured company for the box. They have been making rice crackers for over 60 years in Kyoto. The featured snack is Senbei, which is a rice cracker grilled over charcoal and brushed with sweet soy sauce.
Mini Senbei: Each pack has an assortment of 8 mini senbei. I loved checking out all the different shapes and flavors.
This is a look at all the mini senbei, my favorite was the rich black sesame.
Sugar Glazed Senbei: This flavor has a sugar sweet coating over the salty rice cracker. My kids and I liked this one.
Kyoto Style Salt: I think this is the classic version of senbei, as it didn't have any other flavors that I could detect.
Shrimp Flavored Senbei: This was the one I didn't care for, a but too fishy.
Glico Caramels: This box had a little heart-shaped caramels, along with a cute toy. There are a variety of toys you could receive, but I received the robot noise maker.
Pejoy: These snacks are similar to Pocky, but the filling is inside is filled with Macha, instead of being on the outside.
Bourbon Roanne: Two cookies are in a pack. Each cookie consists of a wafer (similar to an ice cream cone), with cream in the middle.
Green Tea Dorayaki These wheat cakes are filled with matcha red bean paste. I enjoyed the wheat cakes, but I didn't like the filling.
Shiawasedo Milk Cake: These cakes are made with Hokkaido milk. The cake is similar to yellow cake, and they were not as soft as I expected.
Final Thought: The September Snakku box was a fun box to explore. I always enjoy exploring new tastes and flavors. Snakku's presentation is top-notch and it really adds to the enjoyment of the box. You can try Snakku with this link and use the code SUBMOM to save 10% on your first box..
