Snakku is a Japanese snack subscription service that is very different from other boxes I have reviewed.  Snakku specializes in sending Japanese snacks that you can only get in Japan.  All the snacks come from local snack makers in Japan.  Boxes are $38.95/month and filled with 10-15 expert curated snacks.  If you upgrade to a 3 or 6 month subscription, you will get a free Traditional Japanese Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth.

Inside was a box wrapped beautifully in a Traditional Japanese Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth.  If you subscribe to a 3 or 6 month subscription, you will get a Furishiki Wrapping Cloth too.

The box was really unique and featured a slide out feature.  I love the beautiful art on the box.

First Look

Cybele Rusks:  Rusks are baguette slices that have been baked twice and topped with sugar and cream or frosting.  Cybele Rusks come from the Cybele wheat workshops in the mountains of Yamagata.  Cybele baguettes make rusks specifically for rusks.  There were 8 different flavors in all, and I tried most of them.

• Red Strip: Garlic:  This was fantastic and I wished I saved it for Italian night.
• Yellow/Green Stripe: Maple Walnut
• Purple: Blueberry
• Green Stripe: Spicy Onion: This stated similar to the garlic, but obviously with more onion.

• Red Stripe: Cinnamon
• Brown Stripe: Chocolate  This one was great with milk.
• Blue Stripe: Almond Coconut:  This one is going to my dad, since he loves coconut.
• Golden Brown Stripe: Plain Sugar My 3-year-old loved this one and wants more.

Ryushodo: This is a green tea flavored wagashi snacks, which are similar to rusks.  This was a really sweet rusk and the green tea flavor was there, but not too pronounced.

Yuki no Yado: This is senbei, which is seasoned with salt and covered with Hokkaido cream.  It was a crunch, salty treat covered in cream.

Pocky Summer Salty Flavor:  Our family loves Pocky.  This is the same cracker, covered with chocolate and salt, quite amazing.

Bourbon Rumando: These are crispy crepes filled with chocolate.  These were so good and were eaten right away.

Maison De Kukkia: These are green tea flavored cream in between two wafer cookies.  The wafer is light and similar to an ice cream cone.

Hokkaido Matcha Milk Candy: This is a combination of Hokkaido milk and matcha, these weren't my favorite treat in the box.
