First Look

There was a little information guide with a little boy eating ramen.

Inside, the guide gave descriptions about each bowl.

Shoyu Ramen:  This ramen is made with chicken, fish or beef as the soup stock. The noodles can be straight or curly and it is described as having a tart, citrusy and salty taste.  You can also add marinated bamboo shoots, green onions, fish cakes seaweed or boiled eggs to the soup.

Since I took pictures of the top of each ramen, I wanted to show that each ramen comes in a bowl.

Pork Tonkotsu Ramen: This soup is based on the Tonkototsu dish, which is deep-fried pork strips served with rice and vegetables.  This had 410 calories and ready in only 3 minutes.

The Taste: This soup had bits of pork and was really tasty.  My husband said this tasted like ramen noodles, but with a much nicer quality noodle.

Nonspicy Seafood Rice Noodle Soup This seafood soup is made with rice noodles.  Squid and Octopus are traditionally used in this dish, as well as regular fish.  We haven't had this yet, so I am not sure if squid or octopus is used in this actual dish or not.

King's Pan Fried Noodles:  This is ramen that doesn't keep the broth.  It comes with a spicy flavored sauce, a sweeter honey colored sauce and some dry flavorings.

The Taste:  I didn't use all the spicy sauce, as it had quite a strong flavor.  Just a little went a long way.  The sweeter sauce was great and the dry seasoning gave it a great taste.

There were three sets of chopsticks in the box.  I think the fourth pair was accidently left out.

Final Thought:  We were able to try two of the four bowls and both were delicious.  $20.00 is a bit expensive for four bowls, but it's convenient to get these shipped to your door each month.  I would like to see more specific information about the ramen dish itself, instead of how the dish is prepared traditionally.  If you want to try Exotic Noods, use this link with the code Flavor20 to save 20% of your next subscription.
