DoodleBug Busy Bags August 2015 Review

DoodleBug Busy Bags is a subscription for kids 3 to 9 from Kidable Adventures.  Kidable Adventures also makes Little Thinker Box, which I have reviewed a few times.  DoodleBug Busy Bags is $15.99/month and contains 4-8 currated crafts, often made around specific holidays.  All the crafts are designed to be easy to complete, and perfect for developing hand/eye coordination, and fine motor skills.

The Details:

Cost: $15.99/month

Shipping: Free

What’s in the box? Each month, your child will get a bag full of 4-8 fun crafts.

DoodleBug Busy Bags comes in a white padded envelope.

Inside the package was a tote and bag full of crafts.

There was an information sheet with pictures and descriptions of each activity.

Zoo Animal Necklace Craft Kit: Beads and string were included to make an animal necklace.  This craft is great at developing fine motor skill.

T really enjoyed lacing the beads, I just told him what order to put them in.

Animal Mask:  The mask was already put together, perfect for immediate play.

T wore it around for a bit, although he doesn’t like hat’s or things on his face, so his big brother will likely play with it.

Mini Zoo Animal Coloring Book and Crayons:  A mini coloring book and crayons were in the pack.  I am going to put these in our diaper bag for something to do in waiting rooms.

Animal Finger Puppets:  T is all about figures for his trucks.   T put them on his fingers, then decided they would be better driving his dump truck.

Zoo Animal Slap Bracelet:  Each bag contain one animal themed slap bracelet.  I remember these from when I was a kid.  My first slap bracelet was a New Kids on the Block one.

Eric Carle’s 1, 2, 3 to the Zoo Number Craft Kit: This craft the was highlight of the package.  There is a long accordion train, and your child has to put the train cars in order.  The number 9 car has snakes, which was quite challenging to count.

Both boys worked on this project together.

Zoo Animal Sticker Sheet: Various animals were sent, we received the tiger.  Using the stickers, your child can make a face on the enclosed cardstock.

Sticker fun.

Paper Plate Zoo Animal Craft Kit: Using the foam pieces, your child assembles this craft to be an animal.  We received the hippo.

L worked on this project and found it fun and fast to do.

Here is a look at all the completed projects!

Final Thought:  DoodleBug Busy Bags is filled with several little crafts to occupy your little ones.  I would like to see a few more crafts for the price, but my kids thought the subscription was fun.  The crafts take no extra supplies, so this is a great subscription to take a craft and tuck it in your purse for impatient moments in the waiting room.  If you want to check out DoodleBug Busy Bags, use this link.
