Tea Sparrow May 2015 Review

Tea Sparrow is a tea subscription box.  Tea Sparrow is $20.00 a month (Canadian dollars, roughly $16.66 usd) and you get enough tea, to make 35-40 cups of tea.  Since Tea Sparrow sends loose leaf tea, you will need a tea infuser/strainer, which is not included.  One of the great things about Tea Sparrow, is all of their teas are free from artificial ingredients.

Tea Sparrow sent some tips with their box

1.  Measure: Use measuring spoons and cups to ensure accuracy when brewing each blend.

2.  Heat: Use a food thermometer to reach the ideal steeping temperature for each blend

3.  Time It: Every tea has its own unique optional steep time.  Use a timer, so you can set it and forget it

4.  Enjoy:  Try new flavors and share with friends.

First Look: There was a paper that gave some information about the Clouds and Mist tea, that was included in the box.

Clouds and Mist: This caffeinated green tea is 100% organic.  It is also known as yunwu.  It has flavors of smoky, citrus and vegetal.  This tea has grown in China, high in the mountains. Its earthy taste, reminiscent of sweet, roasted artichokes, is well-rounded, with a slight note of toasted pecans.

Chocolate Blueberry Organic:  This caffeinated black tea was my husband's favorite tea.  This tea has a mix of black tea, blueberries and chocolate.  It has an amazing smell and I think we might buy some.

Organic Cheery Fruit Tea: This herbal tea has a sweet honey flavor, and is made with rose hips, orange peels, rooibos, pears, quince fruit, fennel bitter dark, and organic vanilla bourbon flavor.

Blood Orange Smoothie:  This herbal Rooibos tea is caffeine free and is made of red rooibos, orange and vanilla.

Final Thought: My husband enjoyed trying all the tea and he ended up loving the Chocolate Blueberry Organic Tea.  Tea Sparrow included enough tea for 35 cups of tea.  If you enjoy tea, this is a great way to be exposed to new kinds of tea.  If you want to try Tea Sparrow, you can get 60% off your first box.  Just use this link and type in teas in the password area.  This coupon is for the ongoing subscription only.
