My Pretend Place Pirate Dress Up Box Review – May 2015 + Coupon

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.  I received this box for review.

My kids have been loving the Superhero box from My Pretend Place, so I was really excited when they sent me the gender neutral box to review too.  My Pretend Place is a subscription box for children 3-8, that encourages pretend, dress-up, learning and imagination.  My Pretend Place‘s mission is to get children crafting, dressing up, pretending and using their imaginations!  There are two boxes, a dress up box and a DIY Projects Subscription box.  The Dress Up box is $50.00 every 3 month (quarterly) and comes in boy, girl or gender neutral.  This box is for children 3-6.  Each box will contain dress-up costumes, activities or crafts, and other pretend play inspiration.

On the months that you don't receive a dress up box, you will be emailed (or mailed) some bonus material.  To get a good idea of the complete three-month process, you can read my three reviews here (Month 1, Month 2, Month 3).  This is my second My Pretend Place Dress Up Box review.

The Details:

Cost: My Dress Up Box: $50.00/Quarter.  DIY Projects Subscription $15.00/Month

My Pretend Place ships in a huge box, that turns into a suitcase for your kids (keep reading to learn more).

Everything is wrapped in tissue paper.

This box was packed with stuff.

My Pretend Place always sends a personalized letter to your child.  The letter was written in “pirate speak”.  Peg-leg Pete wants your child to join his crew!

Melissa and Doug Pirate Outfit and Sword: $29.99  Our family loves Melissa and Doug, and I am excited that we didn't have this costume yet.  I personally love pirate things, so I was excited to show this to my boys.  This outfit has a top, hat, sword and eye patch.

Pirate Treasure and Bag: There was a pirate bag full of pirate treasure.  This was my 5 year old's favorite part of the box.  He loves treasure.

Pirate Chest Craft: There was a cool pirate chest that you can paint with yellow and brown paint.  There was also stickers to add to the chest.  My son has already taken this and started playing with it.

How I Became A Pirate $16.99:  This book is really neat.  We already own a copy and it's about a boy and his pirate travels.  It's super cute and this will go to T, as L already has it.

This is a look inside the book

There was three stickers and handle to use to transform the box into a suitcase.  There was also a space magnet for your refrigerator.

This is my little pirate, complete with grass stains from t-ball.

Final Thought:  I didn't get a full price breakdown of each item, but My Pretend Place says the box has a value of $63.96. which I believe.  This was a great box and I think this was my favorite box from My Pretend Place so far.  I love the pirate theme and I wish I had a pirate costume for me.  Argh!  If ye want to get this box, use this link with the code pretend to save 30% on your first box of the dress up box or the craft subscription.
