Birchbox January 2015 Review

I received my first Birchbox for January a few days ago.  Birchbox sends you a 5 sample beauty products for only $10.00/month!  If you want to sign up, click here and use the code bbstore100 to get 100 bonus points when you sign up.  100 bonus points is equal to $10.00 in the Birchbox store, so it's like getting your box FREE.

When you sign up, you fill out a profile, so Birchbox can customize your box to your preferences.  There is a regular monthly box and they also have guest editor boxes. Birchbox releases spoilers and a full reveal of the guest editor boxes, so you will know which box to choose.  I actually have two Birchbox subscriptions.  This is the box for my newest account.

Here is the details about the Birchbox Point System

For every 100 points you earn, you get $10.00 to spend in the shop. There are lots of ways to earn points too!

1.  Subscribe Click HERE and use the code 10FORME to get 100 bonus points when you sign up.

2.  Review Your Products: You get 10 points for every sample review you complete.  Each box contains 4-5 products, so that is around $5.00 in points you can earn monthly!  This makes the box $5.00 a month.  If you use the 50% off code, this makes your first box FREE.

3.  Shop!: For every dollar you spend in the Birchbox Store, you earn 1 point for each dollar spent on full-size products in the Birchbox Shop.

4.  Refer Your Friends: For every friend you refer to Birchbox, you will earn 50 points

Birchbox ships in a little box and it's the one box that fits in my mailbox.

The theme for January is “Let's Do This”.  Be sure to save all your Birchboxes this year.  Birchbox has something planned this year if you do (I don't know what).

There was an information card like usual.  There is a challenge on the card.  Every day in January, Birchbox will release a new challenge.  Once you do the challenge, you can share it on social media.

First Look

Silhouette by Christian Siriano Eau de Parfum Sample:  This perfume smells fantastic.  I am surprised how many Birchbox perfume samples I love.  This has notes of berries, jasmine and wood.

theBalm® cosmetics Stainiac $2.26  I had always wanted to try this.  I love products that do double duty.  In a rush to get out the door, I have forgotten a time or two, my blush.  This isn't a very light blush color.  You can use this as check or lip color.  I was disappointed this wasn't brighter, but after trying it as a cheek stain, I really love it.

Neil George Shampoo $4.50 Okay, I really don't get excited about shampoo in boxes.  I have a shampoo I love and I really don't need anything new.  With that being said, this are nice size samples and they are big enough to take traveling.  This has a really nice citrus scent and is full of antioxidants.

Neil George Conditioner  $4.50 If I am going to get a shampoo sample, I want the conditioner too.  I am glad Birchbox included both shampoo and conditioner in the box.  The conditioner is also filled with antioxidants and is free from parabens.

TOCCA Crema da Mano Cleopatra $5.00 I received this in my other Birchbox this month.  I do love this lotion, so I don't mind the duplicate.  I am going to keep this in the car, for cases when I forget mine.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $16.25, not counting the perfume.  I liked this box, but not as much as my first January Birchbox.  I like the stainiac and it's already in my purse.  If you want to try Birchbox, click here and use the code 10FORME to get 100 bonus points (to use in the Birchbox store) with your first box.  Remember, 100 points is equal to $10.00, so it's like you will get your first box free.  Also, be sure to save all your boxes in 2015.  Birchbox is planning something with all the boxes.
