The theme for this month is “Amusement Park”

L always get excited when he see Kiwi Crate on our doorstep

First Look:  The two main crafts this month is “My Silly Squirters” and “My Bumper Cars”

The back of the information card always features Steve the Kiwi Bird and a Friend.  There is also a sticker to add to your poster.  When you first subscribe to Kiwi Crate your child will get a poster that your child can add a sticker to each month.

Explore Magazine is a cute publication that packs, activities, games, and suggested crafts in a little cute book.

The first craft in the book was “Spinning Cup Trick”  All you need is string, tape, a cup and a small toy.  You put the toy in the cup and swing it around.  This replicates what happens on a roller coaster.

The next activity was to make sock beanbags.  All you need is dry beans, plastic bags, socks, cups and paper plates.  You can assemble bean bags and play fun games.

The last project was strips of paper that you use to make your own roller coaster.  L will love playing this.

Now onto the projects!

Each project comes with instructions.  On the front, Kiwi Crate lets parents know how messy the craft is and how much parental involvement is needed.

This project rated medium on the messiness scale and medium on the parental involvement.  You child will also learn gross motor skills, discovering and creating.

Inside, Kiwi Crate includes pictures of all the needed items and step by step instructions.  Kiwi Crate always includes everything you need.  In this project you do need to provide some water.

Everything was included for the project, even the water squirter.

Making the Targets.  L had a bit of help from me on the tiger (at his request) but he did the second one all by himself.

Making the bases

Finished!

He LOVED this project.  Yes, I let L squirt water in the house.  It was so much fun

The second project was “My Bumper Cars”.  This project rated medium on the messiness scale and medium on the parental involvement.  Your child will also learn gross motor skills, discovering and creating.

Once again, there are step by step instructions.  I love how Kiwi Crate includes pictures.  Even though L can't read, he completed this project without my help.

 All the project materials.

Assembling the wheel

Adding the flags

The finished projects.

We set up some toys to have something to crash the bumper cars into.  L loved watching the cars bounce back and spin.

 The completed projects!

Final Thought:  This was such a fun month!  L has his bumper cars by his bed tonight, he really loved them.  The water squirter activity was also a blast. L really enjoyed getting to squirt water in the house.  I was impressed how good L was at it.  L just adores his Kiwi Crate.  I never have to ask him to do the projects, he is always begging to get started right away.  Kiwi Crate has a special back to school special. Click HERE to sign up $10.00 on your first box when you use the code BACKTOSCHOOL10.  You can also try Kiwi Crate for FREE, just pay $3.95 shipping.  Go to www.kiwicrate.com/free-trial to sign up.  You will get the My Starlight Lantern project (not a full crate).
